What Are Unique Variants? Are They Worth It?

Hey guys hey Bopp just wanted to ask a somewhat silly question. What are Unique Variants? I've never got one and I just know that you get them in the Bazaar and they are worth 250 Energy. Should I get one for my Fireburst Brandish or Super Blaster?

Ill continue upgrading my Fireburst and Super Blaster till I get the 5*s.
BTW, is Defender better than Owlite for RJP??? Coz I need to do it for my Sealed Sword(I really like the Divine Avenger).

Defender protects against Piercing damage, which is the most common form of damge in RJP.
That said, you're probably best skipping Defender and going straight for the Thorn Shield line. It only looses a tiny fraction of defense compared to the Defender, but gives you bonus damage to your sword attacks, which is probably more useful.
Only downside it is obtained using Frumious Fang tokens, which can be obtained from defeating the Snarbolax, and the recipes can only be found in the Clockworks.

I Will Get The
Bristling Buckler as I already have 7-8 Frumius Fangs and one Snarby run is gonna take max 10 min of my life (solo elite).
As for my Owlite, I'll keep upgrading it till I get bored of it.
I don't really have a Defender right now(I sell all my unused weapons to Basil)
Are there any special recommendations for armor, I'm using Dusker Set right now

Don't work on the Defender/Aegis line. Just work on the Barbarous Thorn Shield line, as Setakat advised.
The Grey Owlite Shield line is one of the most useful defensive shields in the game. So don't get rid of yours. You may want it someday.
Wolver/Dusker armor is great if you use swords. So is Chaos. So is Black Kat if you can get it.

If your making a divine avenger,you should get vog cub (speed bonus). As for your owlite, Grey owlite is rlly good. Right now all your equipment is good for FSC. If u need more information on ur shields go to : http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Main_Page

Chaos set is good for offence. It has 0 defence. So its kind of for the offensive players.

Yes, I know. To put it more precisely, Chaos has decent damage protection and negative status resistance (penalties).
Experienced players in this game favor offense, because even the most defensive armor lets tons of damage through. This is all covered in the armor section of the sword guide that I linked.

Well, Dark Chaingun does shadow damage, to which slimes are vulnerable. So Dark Chaingun is one of the best guns for RJP. And Needle Shot does piercing damage, which slimes resist. So Needle Shot is one of the worst guns for RJP.

Unique variants (UVs) are explained pretty well at the wiki page Unique Variant. See also the wiki page Abilities to learn about how abilities (bonuses) work in general.
My advice is that you do not buy UVs from Punch (in the Bazaar) right now. Continue to upgrade your items to 5 stars. If none of those upgrades gives you a UV, then consider buying one from Punch. You can also buy items with UVs from other players. But don't buy anything 4-star or 5-star, because those require an expensive unbinding fee. Buy 2- or 3-star UVs and then upgrade the items yourself.
On weapons, the most valuable UVs are attack speed increase (ASI) and charge time reduction (CTR). Which of those is more valuable depends on the weapon, what abilities you're getting from your armor, shield, and trinkets. Damage bonus UVs are not as valuable, because they apply to only one monster family. It's better to get damage bonuses from armor, shield, and trinkets.
On armor and shield, the most valuable UVs are shock, fire, and freeze resistance. The other statuses are usually not as important, and damage protection UVs turn out to have only a small practical effect.
