How many crowns is 100 energy units REALLY worth? Here it is.
First, find one item that can be found in both the bazaar and the supply depot.
A 3* weapon.

Then compare.
500e=35,000c
Then divide both sides by 5.
100e=7,000c

So, the true value of 100 energy units should be 7,000 Crowns, but if you compare the item costs for other star weapons, it will be different.
But, the cost of energy should be near that. (For example; 8k crowns flat is okay, but 10k or more isn't really okay.)

-Pery

TL;DR: 100 energy is worth about 7k crowns, so it should be a little close to it.
EDIT: Read replies and changed idea. It's not that ideal to price based on this information, because that's not how economy works. I'm not trying to appeal to people, I'm just trying to make sense.
EDIT: Changed the word "cost" to "worth and value".

Bad comparison.

Strangers only deal with crowns.
Kozma only deals with energy.

If you ask either of them to accept the other currency, I suspect that they would decline.

Energy Stranger only deals with extraterrestrial currencies such as something called "dollar" and "euro". This guy also takes a mean 2% tax to match up knights that want to trade energy and crowns.

Additionally...
1* items give the comparison of 65E or 3kcrn [4615crn per 100E]
2* items give the comparison of 150E or 7.5kcrn [5000crn per 100E]
3* items give the comparison of 500E or 35kcrn [7000crn per 100E]

Their "exchange" rates sure seem inconsistent.

Mostly for buying stuff from the supply depot. Trinket/Weapon slots, orbs, sparks, fire crystals, special sales, etc etc.

The problem with this is that Kozma and the merchants are only selling at those prices, and not buying.

Eh ... you got it

Eh ... you got it backwards.

The whole point of microtransaction payment/ingame currency systems is to put an object of desire just outside the reach of the casual player. Some will crack and spill up cash in order to avoid having grind for hours.

You can define a statistical function that maps the CE exchange rate to credit card swipes per day. The "true crown cost" (or better: "target crown cost") is the exchange rate at which that function produces a maximum.

  • The function is highly dynamic and depends largely on the average crown income of the general populus. You have to redefine it whenever the game environment changes.
  • OOO actively manipulates the energy market to keep the exchange rate within target range by releasing promos with or without energy included

7k/100 CE is simply what the true crown cost used to be at some point back in the past and it hasn't been updated since.

TL;DR: no, 100 E does not cost 7k. That's just making up numbers based on wishful thinking and personal perferences.

Regardless of CE's "true" price, like wares, if a seller wishes to get rid of something quickly, they will be fine with selling at a lower price. And if someone is reluctant to give up wares, they may only sell it at a higher price. This is called WTA or WTP (willingness to accept/pay) and another factor that affects prices is called Supply and Demand. If you had the last piece of chocolate on Earth, would you sell it for the price listed on an old grocery store magazine, despite knowing that there were thousands of people who would stomp baby seals if it meant they could have a bite?
Do you really think AAA game companies need to sell their games for $80+ to stay afloat?

I think everyone is aware of what CE is worth, and that the OP is only bringing up an interesting point about the game's internal value of each that Skepticraven continues with.

@OP

You basically chose the wrong word. It should be "value" instead of "cost". You still have to pay the normal energy price, but (if you compare 3* SD to merchants) 100E has the same value as 7000cr. It's weird indeed, but it doesn't matter a lot as you should never buy items from SD/merchants anyway.
