Riftlocker (blaster line) v.s Gilded Griffin (antigua line)?

Blits needle aside, which of the two guns is more likely to punish greavers while keeping me alive and far from being maimed to death?
Both offer the same damage types but have different mechanics:
*riftlocker offers minor pushback and more damage in every shot but smaller clip size.
*gilded griffin has larger clip and faster bullets but weaker damage.
Would greatly appreciate it sirs if you can help me out with your opinion/experience in the matter.

Yeah, i have that gun but i have to be honest and say it's too inweildy for me. Magnus type guns just have two clips for normal shots which is very lacking (understandable since this is a charge oriented gun). Its charge attack is really great though in temrs of crowd damage but i don't use it as often as i should when i had the gun for the reason i don't have enough CTR to make it usable in the field. I'm working on my CTR though :)
But considering my lack of CTR and my ample amount of ASI i want to stick to using guns that rely more on normal shots rather than charged shots... hence why i'm considering/choosingbetween Riftlocker and Gilded Griffin against fiends (greavers specifically).
Thanks though, i'm sure when i get enough ctr i will use magnuses again.

Going back to my question though... what is a better choice between the two? Riftlocker or Gilded? Both are new so i don't have an idea.
Sorry if this has been asked before sirs.

It's a good question, maybe never asked before. I don't know the answer, because I always use Final Flourish/Barbarous Thorn Blade, Callahan, Dark Briar Barrage, or Combuster on fiends.
Probably both of these guns fire fast enough and inflict enough damage to keep a greaver interrupted. There might be an issue of how big the explosion area is. You want a big area, in case you're facing a crowd of six or eight greavers. (You can face up to 12 at once in an arena.)
Beyond that, it's just a question of damage per second. I don't have updated data on their firing rates, so I can't compute it right now.

Callahan's normal shots are good against some grievers and bad against others. The ones it is good against are the ones that respawn on pads far away and run at you, and the ones it is bad against are the ones that spawn close to you in sets of 12. A run down of how this works out-
1. Griever spawns, sees you and starts to fly at your face
2. Griever gets a long ranged + high damage callahan bullet to the face, staggering and possibly stunning it.
You only want to shoot the thing once to stagger it, so using callahan is a great deal since you won't reload etc.
3. You have now bought time stalling the griever.
4. Griever gets flourished or callahan charged to death if you're ready to do that.
5. If you're not ready to deal with the griever, just pull out callahan and smack it again.
If you're looking for a weapon to counter that kind of griever, or the ones that spawn on most normal levels, callahan is your best option.
If you're looking to counter the other type of griever, the one that spawns in sets of 12, then I'm not entirely certain but lean towards riftlocker. I've been primarily experimenting with riftlocker rather than gilded griffin, and I have been able to beat the 12 griever wave with just riftlocker alone so I can say for a fact that it does work. From what I've seen though, gilded griffin's clip size could be quite useful when staggering tons of grievers but it's hard to say.
The trick that I usually use with riftlocker has been to shoot at any approaching crowds of grievers twice, and use the small area explosion from 2 shots (so as to always have one at the ready if I am rushed unexpectedly) on grievers that that are close to one another. This requires the entire arena to perform, as I need to be able to circle around rapidly while shooting at them, and is generally hard to perform.
With gilded griffin, I've been able to shoot them down more rapidly and it does appear to work better, but I've only done T2 arenas with it and am not certain if it's enough damage or not to work towards the end of T3. Grievers stagger easily, but I'm fairly certain not 100% of the time.

Thanks for the quick answer sirs (sir bopp and oohnorak) specially sir fehzor for that very detailed explanation - it was exactly what i was hoping for, thank you.
Callahan
Sort of slow but good damage, high flinch rate, and the charge absolutely wrecks greavers if you can aim it
Personally I usually don't use my callahan on them, I just rocket hammer them as they dash, but its really useful anyways
