This sounds fun! I'd be up to starting an SK nuzlocke run on an alt.
Also, how do you feel about acquiring equipment directly from other knights through trading? Such as posting a WTB (such and such weapon) in haven and using the trade interface to make a deal for new equipment? Ofc you do sell whatever old equipment you had, but just want clarification on this.
@Hexzyle : I planed my gear for this nuzlocke. I can't wear glass cannon gear, so i'll craft some fire and shock gear. (Maybe one day i'll do a true Harcore Nuzlocke all time on elite with a glass cannon set.)
@Hexzyle : AH is banned and also trading with other player or alt account. You must sell undesired item to a npc.
All your stuff must be found by yourself. (Remember it's a challenge !)
Ragecrafting is autorised (if you realy need some specific UV)
You can do Expension mission to obtain wep but you must choose which wepon keep and sold to a npc.
Special circumstance : If you dont want the expension hammer as choice for you sword slot just keep it at lvl 0 and don't use it.
@All : You can do mission on elite difficulty and just pass risky mission on advance difficulty. (Keep difficulty lvl at your skill lvl.)
I was expecting an SK Nuzlocke challenge to be like:
- Every time you die (spark), you need to vendor the weapon you were using at the time
- If you run out of weapons, it's game over.
- After you increase in rank, do a Basil run, and buy a recipe he is offering. That is your new piece of equipment (you can also buy recipes of a line of equipment you currently posses)
What is the goal for beating the SK Nuzlocke?
Beating all the missions? Vanaduke? Shadow Lairs?
Can one play with other people and thus take a back seat while they take the brunt of the danger?
I don't think there is an actual goal for the nuzlocke, but I do find that having such restrictions gives more value to certain aspects of the game.
Players hiding behind others would just show how brave they are. Perhaps allow grouping of nuzlocke'd players only?
Hmmm sounds interesting... I'll probably go Cobalt Knight when I get around to starting this.

I think this challenge is more sort of a personal challenge, so if you hide behind other players, then you're just limiting your own enjoyment of overcoming the challenge.
Also, it's not like you capture all the gameplay footage and someone checks it over for cheating...

If I know I'm not going to succeed in a mission, can I quit without deleting my character, or do I have to get to an elevator to safely quit?

@Sir-Pandabear : SK nuzlocke is solo-playing based. But Dahall expose a good idea, if you want to play whit other player they must do a nuzlocke too.
In order to avoid let them fight and take all risk for you.
You choose your own goal of SK nuzlocke, mine is 'The Hall of Heroes' after Vanaduke mission. If you want an hardcore challenge you can choose the last mission. (with swarm lvl inside) Or finish a specific SL.
@Qwez : Good question, you can't quit a mission if you are about to dead (cut off some abuse: "this is my last hp i quit !") but f you can reach the elevator and decide to quit (you probably lower the difficulty before do a new try.) -[Added to the rules core list]
@Traevelliath : Maybe too much random for a first challenge ! But good idea too. My list of rule isn't universal, a nuzlocke is a personnal challenge so you can add some rules to customize your challenge.

This is problematic; what if real life things come up? And if you allow that, how petty can a "real life thing" be before you can't quit? "Hold on, gonna quit because I really need a cuppa"
@Hexzyle : Ok, this rule is a backdoor solution. I am honest and I do not leave in mission. But other players can decide to leave a mission that goes wrong. I haven't magic solution to this problem.

It allow more stuff choice but it maybe break the Third rule (Re-do past mission for token.)
I'd love this if getting gear wasn't such a grind. You'll be stuck in the arcade for ages and you'll be severely limited in your ability to speed up progress through reselling recipes.

Arcade should always be allowed. It's always different: even if you want to go to a boss strata, you still have to go through other crap first.
Not that you'd be able to do Vana well with the same bomb, sword and gun you're able to use everywhere else.
4/ You can't use auction house. (but you can use supply depot from kozma)
Can you make this "You can't buy items from the Auction House"? Strangers buy items for peanuts to the point it's kind of broken.

Speed up the progress is a specific part to keep fun an fresh challenge.
So yeah selling items on AH is Ok.
Hexzyle, i think get token from Arcade is a part of the game. And much more difficult than do boss mission.
So it's authorized.
Can I make other armor for costume?
Can I use lower star shield for style? (eg. Use Scary Skelly Shield(3*) instead of Sinister Skelly Shield(5*)
I took the liberty of sending my excess 2* mats for Battle Sprite food to speed that up a bit. I prefer to get to level 15 BS without agonizingly slow progress... BS too grindy for me to do it with a completely fresh slate.
You can use real armor as costume, but remember this items isn't usable as armor. (you can craft highter version of them for cosmetic purpose.)
Your can also use lower items for style (but they block your progress into gear lvl autorisation.) If you use a specific shield exclusively in town consider it's a costume part. (and you can keep your "mission shield" aside your cosmetic one)
Importing mat or whatever from a alt accound break the rule "Obtain items by yourself". It's you journey, don't speed up by receive someone helps.
(In this case you using these mat for your Sprite food, isn't a crime but you do a custom SK nuzlocke with homemade rules.)
I'm just think about it but "Obtain items by yourself" rule is the most important rule ever. I must add it under n°0 rule.
I just realized that this challenge is not much different than old SK with Energy revives (basically don't get hit, or else you have to cough up CE after one mist energy revive in T3). I'm not hyped for nostalgic gameplay (Also, Old SK had harder enemies, except for Gorgos, which are somewhat of a pain with the wrong weapons).
So... I'm just going to do some missions with "default" weaponry shieldless. That sounds more fun to me.

There should be some kind of time table like you can only do one type of monsger type missions per day.
For example: Monday is Construct and Slime, Tuesday is Gremlin and Wolver etc.
I am very interested, if people actually do this, in seeing what equipment people choose.
