Hey guys, i need some help deciding wether i should get a shadow sword.
Was thinking to get acheron but my blazebrand is doing the job on slimes and yea same for strike needle on gremlins.
Any ideas?

Yes.

Your Blazebrand + Strike Needle (Combustor + Blitz) make a very good combination. You could finish the game with just those if you like.

That said, part of the fun of this game is trying out different weapon sets. Acheron is another of the strongest swords in the game. Paired with an elemental gun, it could form a very nice alternate set for you.

strongly agree

I strongly agree with Smalltownguy. Combuster with Blitz Needle is sufficient for the entire game, including efficient farming of Firestorm Citadel. But much of the fun of this game is trying out different weapons. And Acheron is certainly powerful. It can really help against difficult shadow-vulnerable enemies such as Ice Queen or Seerus.

The only thing I'd say differently from Smalltownguy is: Acheron is nearly identical to Combuster in play style, so you don't get much of the fun of trying different weapons. Consider Umbra Driver, Winter Grave, or Dark Retribution. Those are also very powerful shadow weapons.

save up?

Seriously consider saving up the 3,600 energy (or whatever it is) to buy OCH. It's fun, it's highly profitable, and the three items you get from it are among the most powerful in the game.

Alchemers are weak in the hands of a novice but strong in the hands of an expert. You have to know how to use the ricochets. Basically they double your damage output. So consider using them again sometime in the future, after you have tried other weapons.

Winter Grave, like all magnus-style guns, has mediocre regular attacks but a very strong charge attack. You have to aim it at the monster's front, for maximum effect. It takes some practice.

Happy travels.
