Would it be effective? It would help block the Gran Faust, along with giving damage bonuses and MSI for gunners.
I don't know if it would be as good for swords, but it seems great for guns

It's pretty awesome for LD. Basically, unless you're in need of specific defences or are playing in a status heavy environment there's no reason to use anything else. MSI is useful for everyone, especially if you have 2-3 bars. It helps compensate for latency. It's also amazing for recons and guardians, because it makes footwork vs strikers a lot easier.

I can imagine having trouble when going against Polaris, Voltiac Tempest, or Voltedge, but it does have Freeze protection, which is nice.
MSI is generally good to have in LD.
Blanket damage bonuses can't be UV'd; ASI and CTR can. Overall, Black Kat would work exceptionally well. Just don't get hit(as usual).

The problem is now about the low shadow defense but the status, if you can protect yourself from bombers and status weapons, BK set is best for LD.
Defenses in this game is negligible, what makes armor good is the status resists and damage boosts.
It is good for swords if you have ASI UVs (but then again that is what everyone is after)
It is pretty much a set built for LD, it gives a Huge damage boost and Shiv immunity.
Still if you are using striker you will only get a boost to your guns as your typical striker set (Skolver, Snarby, Chaos) already get Max sword damage.
