Once we are to get the Herex boss, what do you think will come from the tokens?

Me? I'm thinking about some aura where his shurikens rotate around you, or his leafy aura, something like that.

Who says we're getting tokens?

We haven't gotten a boss that drops tokens since before the missions were implemented.

And shurikens? What? They're sawblades.

If Herex is the last boss I call dibs on the ghostmane stalker's weapon. I know the knight can hold it, Three Rings. I tried it in Spiral Spy and it's way too awesome.

(Mild spoilers ahead, if you haven't played through Dreams and Nightmares yet)

But- shouldn't the swarm/core be the last boss? Herex brought it into existence as a weapon of some sort, and it would be severely disappointing if the magical white world was limited only to dreams and nightmares, with Herex getting shoved into a corner as the biggest bad in Spiral Knights... Vanaduke would cry, if Herex replaced him and started handing out tokens like lunch money.

It's also worth mentioning that the alpha squad etc. were still lost in the core doing whatever, and that we just escaped and are primed for more talky cutscenes.. which just begs for a "we've got to go back!" type moment.

The architect released the swarm, and we don't know who that is yet, all we know is herex has something to do with the swarm

If you ask me...

It's way too early for us to fight the final boss.
Think about it, we still have to explore:
- The remaining Crimson Order members
- King Tinkizar
- The Architect
- The reason why Cradle exists
- The Sleeper
- The Morai wars
- The reason Herex wants to use the Swarm for his own uses.

We still don't know herexs exact affiliation with the swarm, he might be helping it, corrupted by it, trying to harness it, anything but we don't have any definite evidence other than the fact they do stuff together

A lot of you have things wrong...

SPOILER ALERT... Even though this is kinda free information now...

The Architect is King Tinkinzar, the Sleeper speaks to you in the Echo Stones, and Cradle was built to protect the Sleeper, as said in the Echo Stones. But "the architect betrayed the pact" (Shadow Lair: Ironclaw Munitions Factory Echostone), by allowing the Swarm to come to Cradle (?). Herex wants the Swarm as his own weapon to combat the rest of the Nine (the Crimson Order, that is. Not the Nine from LotR or Skyrim. Dang, people like using nine as something special). Herex also wants to annihilate the Spiral Order and take Cradle as his own with the Swarm as his weapon. That is all stuff that is said directly ingame, or obviously implied.

Carbon, a lot of what you said is speculation, the only things we know for sure are that the sleeper talks in echo stones, cradle was supposed to protect it ,architect betrays pact, everything else you said there is not proven lore
"Obviously implied" I can use those exact words to counter everything you said there

Alright then...

Well, when I went to check the Echo Stone wiki page, I found some was changed. A while ago, from Ironclaw Munitions Factory Shadow Lair Echo Stone, it said, "This world was created to protect me. Vulnerable in slumber, worlds were drawn to shield me from the darkness. This world has become my prison. In his madness, the architect betrayed the pact. Twisting his creation into a game of death, it now devours all who enter its iron embrace," and the word "Architect" was a link to King Tinkinzar's page. That has since changed, so I guess my information is outdated wiki information. We know Herex was kicked out of/left the Crimson Order (I think... It's been a while since I played OCH, but I know Herex and Seerus are enemies), we know he hates the Spiral Order, and we know he wants power. Why else would he open the Core?

I'm not saying he's not tinkizar, just saying its not canon lore, I actually agree with you

Looking at the new IMF post boss room seerus says herex ran away, that's true, but we don't know if he's allied with the swarm, corrupted/controlled by it, or controlling it himself, the last one seems pretty unlikely since the swarm has its own agenda (leeching off the sleeper in DaN)

Hm...

I think Herex wants/wanted to control the Swarm, but doesn't realize how weak he is compared to it. I wouldn't be surprised if the Swarm corrupts him and he goes around wrecking things like Vanaduke. I would also suspect that Herex wants to take power over the Sleeper as well, which is another reason for going to the Core.

Yes that is likely, but vana got his powers from something in the mountains, presumably vog, herex if he goes insane will probably just be an invisible seerus, and twice as laggy probably
