I've recently moved to Japan and found out that I can't access the game unless I use a VPN. If I do so, my ping goes to crazily high levels and the game would be unplayable anyway.

Anyone knows a way around this? Are there any active players in Japan now?

Edit:
I'm using Steam btw. And I can't play my steam account on browser. I've asked one guy on the Japanese message boards but he plays on browser so idk anyone who can play via Steam...

Err...

Pretty sure it's a steam/server thing going on there. From what I can tell that area is restricted to the server not run by Three Rings directly.

From a quick look at the items in the Steam market, the Spiral Knights costumes/accessories from previous events have the following on them:
This is a restricted gift which can not be played in these countries: Japan, Korea, Republic of, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong

So, at least through Steam, you're out of luck. :(

used to be East Asia servers

There used to be East Asia servers, which hosted a separate Spiral Knights world from the one on the North America and Western Eurasia servers. I don't know whether they're still active. Good luck.
