What is your "serious" theme when playing Spiral Knights?

As in, what song do you listen to when playing a particularly tough level or area? That music that triggers a determined reaction out of you...

The unknown passage theme is really awesome, but I joined someone in It Came From Below and decided to listen to Final Test during it instead. (film context if you're interested)

Another one I like to use during arenas is this (Is a download link, because I don't know the title of the song. I know it's an arrange and vocal swap of an Alstroemeria's song, but they release a different arrange of it in like every single one of their albums so I've no clue which one it is) It's a tad short though so it's only good for a single round of an Arena.

ECHO is a song I listened to when I first completed Flandre. And I still use it because it's good all the way through.

Progressive songs (example, Two Steps From Hell - Dark Ages) aren't optimal IMO since they need time to build up and give you that kick, time you may not have.

Dear me, I didn't know one could go this 80's. That bass is damn groovy, though!

Personally I don't have anything for serious playing, I usually just put on something from my library. If I manage to attain a high level of focus I start completely ignoring the music anyway. Goes for both LD and PvE, although I'd say I'm overall more consistent in being able to play well in PvE.

Jo Blankenburg, Audiomachine, or other epic background music to do seriously epic things.

That being said, I'm just about never serious in games... so they just about never get played on SK.

Pretty much the only theme that comes to mind for me is "Extend Ash ~ Hourai Victim" from Imperishable Night.

...or "Flame Core - Volcano" from SONIC THE HEDGEHOG. That works too, even if the game doesn't.

Well

Mostly what comes is final fantasy songs. Caius's theme from FF13 works, but what also works well is One Winged Angel from FF7.

Hm

Mine depends heavily upon what I feel like listening to, or what ever games I come across. Some songs get used more often than others just cause of or personal tastes. Two I've been listening to quite a bit recently are this and this.

;p

Uverworld - Impact (Shout out to my main man Seika doing nothing on stage with Sax awkwardly) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5f8Q-AT14A

Uverworld - Boku no Kotoba de wa Nai, Kore wa Bokutachi no Kotoba https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsaFpQyNRwc

Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas - Let me Hear (Still Japanese, American names are popular, this is when I'm rushing) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-SQqppuGvc

Granrodeo - Henai No Rondo (Would send the actual video, but has a slightly explicit part and could probs get me banned or somethin, also it's kinda weird for it's age but ya know, the japs love it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOq1yC-QJJw

L'arc En Ciel - Good Luck My Way (Mind Hyde's awkward movements as he "sings" for the video, and skip to 1:00 to skip the intro which is just for show) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1fRy346838

L'arc En Ciel - Day Break's Bell (When I'm Melo and Mundane, and possibly just depressed and in contemplation, MIND THE ANIME, NO ONE SEEMS TO WANT TO MAKE A VIDEO THAT DOESN'T CONSIST OF ANIME OR GARBAGE NIGHTCORE (I still love anime doe)...) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHULYhXVSZQ

=======================================================================================

This is a reserved spot for the song and video that made me get DEEP Feels, and it's actually a good song for a serious run while contemplating, also in the video, the people on the bus who leave die, they "depart". and if you can pay attention to other passengers, you can see how some evade death ;D

Skip to 4:30 to get to the music, or just watch the whole thing unfold and be obliterated by the feels.

I'm not asking what music you listen to when playing Spiral Knights.
I'm asking what music you listen to when you're not playing around.

What is your Raising Fightings Spirit, your Mahou Hatsudou, your Song of Storm and Fire, your He's a Pirate, your Zero Two.

At the moment mine is Alstroemeria's trace|phantasmagoria album version of Strawberry Crisis

I don't expect everyone to have something set aside, but I'm pretty sure hypomaniacs like myself aren't the only people who have music triggers and who have figured out that power fantasies and music go hand in hand.

@Oroseira
Pretty much the only theme that comes to mind for me is "Extend Ash ~ Hourai Victim" from Imperishable Night.

OMG the enemies coming up from the bottom of either side of the screen... I can feel them approaching when that song starts.
Love the theme, hate the boss. Seriously, those phoenix tracers obliterate me every effing time.

On a similar note, I have not found a single arrange yet that correctly captures the mystism and emotion in Ancient Temple. Even the official MIDI version drops the full effect of those temple bells.
Once again, love the theme, hate the boss. Stage 5 bosses are always a total pain in the neck.

@Fight-Beetle

Token, but still good. Man with a Machine Gun is cool, I wish it had more kick to qualify as a serious theme, but alas.
Decisive battle is awesome too.

@Traevelliath
Great is a composer when they can create impressive and impactual music using low quality sound effects.

@Mephisto-Philus
I've heard of UVERworld, I recall liking an EP they made for Bleach to the point I looked up the full version of it along with another couple of their songs. This was almost a decade ago though so I'd completely forgotten about them.

It doesn't really take much to keep the spirit up in a fight.

The battle themes of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest come to mind.

I'd love to fancy the true and tried Mighty Morphin Power Rangers theme song for the rare occasions, but it brings up all manners of violations toward the common tension considering the nature of Spiral Knights' difficulty triggers and situational progress chokepoints.

Recently I using the steam player to play music in spiral knight

For my theme I using songs of the music artist Savant ^^

especially Savant - ISM, Savant - Melody Circus, Savant - Butterfly

When I fight a boss like Vanaduke I use Savant - Overkill as theme.

I am the Game.

For Spiral Knights, there are two things I might do for alternate music.

First, anything from the Nick Phoenix album Speed of Sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_jfvfL6i3A
It just goes so well with SK.

Second, I listen to The Game by Motorhead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_JF8oSxXtM

'Cuz I am the Game, and I want to play.

The game's soundtrack, even

The game's soundtrack, even if some of the music isn't too Seerus at times, is what I usually listen to when I play the game.

However, there are times I favor something different, so I'll list a few of those below:

- Dredg - Hung Over on a Tuesday
- Celldweller - Lost in Time

- Dust: An Elysian Tail - The Glade
- Final Fantasy Tactics - Under the Stars
