What Hat/Armor Should I Use?

So, I am a gunslinger who has just returned to the game after a few months, and now I am finally able to use 5-star items now that I am a Rank 8-1! Yay!
However, I have to decide what armor I should use.
Right now I am considering using the Perfect Mask of Seerus with the Shadowsun Slicker, but the Chaos and Black Kat sets seem to be good also.
As for details about my playstyle:
I use the Gigawatt Pulsar (Polaris), Mega Magnus (Callahan), and the Blackhawk (Sentenza)
I am decent at the game, I usually play on Elite for the better loot (though for rank missions I play Normal just so I can get them over with, unless I am grinding them for items).
I mostly play solo for my rank missions, though I play with others in the Arcade and while I am grinding sometimes.

a few sets
First off you should try not to mix defense types as it actually lowers your ability to tank hits.
Chaos and BK are overpowered sets but come with the drawback of lacking nearly every status resist.
For a more defensive loadout I would recommend:
Mask of Seerus (CTR and ASI are nice)
Grey Feather Mantle (status resists against the worst 2 in the game)
Grey Owlite shield
For moderate Offense and defense I would recommend:
Shadowsun Set (Powerful handgun damage boost)
Omega Shell (Tanky shield keeps you alive and pounding out bullets in any situation)
For pure offense with minimal survivability:
Chaos set (Hope you enjoy being: cursed, burned, frozen, poisoned, and shocked)
Swiftstrike buckler (Shoot fast, break fast)

Grey feather is really dull. Just... save yourself the trouble and don't mess with it. It isn't worth it. Craft 2 gunner armors for shock and fire if you really have to but really just consider running black kat/chaos + seerus for fire/shock levels. It works incredibly well on the bulk of them.

I have an armor guide for players in your situation. Check out the section on gunner armor.
Your elemental and shadow guns do not have great charges, so there is not much point in getting a lot of CTR. On the other hand, your piercing gun is primarily for charging. Hmm.
Your elemental gun is also mainly about crowd control, not damage. And your shadow gun is mainly about utility (hitting switches, breaking blocks, etc.). Only your piercing gun is a "let's kill monsters" gun. Hmm.
To be honest I would change at least the shadow weapon (to Umbra Driver or Grim Repeater). I might also change the elemental weapon. That's a big discussion.
If you want to stick with your current guns, I would recommend the 3-star Black Kat helmet (easily obtained during any Kataclysm) and Nameless armor. But if you switched to (what I consider to be) better guns then I would advise stuff like Black Kat, Chaos, and Shadowsun.
What are you using aside Amor to improve your weapons?
1. Do you have/plan to have UVs?
2. Are you using swiftstrike buckler or a defensive shield?
3. Do /will you use Trinkets?

Pulsars and Antigua-type guns benefit greatly from ASI while it is almost useless to get CTR in here. So for These 2 weapons I would aim for either the Black Kat set to boost movement Speed by having max dmg alone with this set, so the other parts (like trinkets, sprite buff, UVs) can hit the max in asi, too.
However:
Callahan is a weapon that shiney most in two ways:
1. Knocking down and Keep knocked down enemies like devilities and wolvers (in this case asi+dmg max work best)
2. Charge to deal the best crowd damage (in this case damage+ctr max would work best). But due to the nature of those who are weak against pierce, it is hard to hit devilities or wolvers in a crowd and to wolvers it might only cause them to teleport around.
Therefore I again recommend asi+dmg.
For your weapon choice I would recommend using black kat set with swiftstrike buckler, as sprite buff movement Speed increase, and as amulets one CTR and one ASI by filling the remaining asi to max with an UV.
I also may note that Sentenza got the very exact same damage Points vs all enemies but gremlins like Obsidian carabine - the difference is: Obsidian got poision and sentenza got that gremlin damage buff, that is useless at a natural max dmg output.
