Since you seem to know about these things (and I've not logged in in about 3 years before now) may I ask you: about how valuable are these wolf / wolver tails? Are they in the same league as dragon wings? Should I be looking to trade a prismatic and/or shadow dragon wings straight up for one (I expect the dragon wings are twice as valuable but who knows).

It's actually been available more than once, in 2013 and 2014. But it's still going to be a hassle to get, I'd wait for Winterfest to roll around and see if they release the Polar box with the tail in it again. Can't imagine why they wouldn't.
You can delete your old post by clicking Edit, and selecting 'Graveyard' from the dropdown menu under the title. Good luck, Polar Tail is gonna be hard to find!
