Autoguns are the recently selled weapons in Auction House - Why?

Title says it all...
Are Autoguns underpowered, broke because of some changes in game or want 2* people to craft pepperboxes from them? If yeah, then why? If not, then why are everybody selling them?

There's so many selling because people are crafting them in bulk in order to try to get a good UV. Think about it this way: rolling a UV at Punch costs 20000 Crowns. Creating an Autogun costs 50 Energy, or around 4500 Crowns. Thus, you can effectively make four Autoguns for the same price as rolling one UV, so people spam craft them in bulk then sell all their faulty Autoguns. In addition to this, because people will basically always buy Autoguns, you're not losing that much money while crafting for UVs, whereas if you use Punch, you lose 20000 Crowns regardless of whether you got a good UV or not. Crafting in bulk is simply the most effective and cheapest way to go for good UVs.
The reason people do this is because Blitz Needle is fantastic, and they may want Grim Repeater/Volcanic Pepperbox/Plague Needle, or people simply want to gamble and make profit if they actually get a good UV. An Autogun with a good UV sells for a lot.

Autoguns
I agree with Dibsville - Autoguns are pretty much the brandishes of the handgun family. Because they branch off into so many different weapons, they're good for creating in bulk to try and get decent UVs. And, of course, then people sell them on the AH, whether they're the ones they don't want or the ones that have really good UVs and want to make money from them.

People make and sell them because they're good and people will buy. Why would people craft them in the first place if they're bad?
