Fixing balance issues, Please fix the bad for us not just the bad for you`

I definitely understand some of the balance changes that have been made. For example devil bosses turning into devilites when all the workers are dead, and (primarily) the piercing/shadow damages in the recent patch. It was never working as intended or as it should.

But now that you've adjusted some of these small issues, please fix some of the things that work AGAINST us (not just the ones that work for us).
For example Shock status. The ticks make it pretty much impossible to heal urself if there is any type of lag.

1. Shock/fire/curse/poison/etc--u should be able to use a remedy capsule at anytime to fix these. I.e. curse shouldn't curse ur remedy vials. A remedy use should take priority over the shock tick animation. It's ridiculous when u use it while u are not being shock ticked, and 3-4 seconds later u notice u are still shocked and u still have ur remedy capsule because somehow a delayed tick (i guess) hit u. Point being, remedy should take precedence. IF u are afflicted with a status, using remedy should cure that status.

2. Status effects should not be able to be refreshed on the player. THe shock/fire/curse/poison timer should have to count all the down before the effect can be renewed on the player.

You cannot convince me that shock is 'working as intended'. Surely nobody would program that into the game thinking it was a good idea. It's not even a good mechanic if you are going to argue for us needing a level of difficulty. Stunlocking shock isn't the answer.

Anyhow, the bigger point is, don't just 'fix' things that work in our favor. Fix some of the issues in the game that are working against us.

1. I'm pretty sure that Shock

1. I'm pretty sure that Shock and Curse are the only two status ailments that can interrupt Remedy use. And it is annoying to think you've necked a Remedy only to discover that you hadn't...but, well, if you're paying closer attention to what's going on, this tends not to happen. Shock is perhaps one of the most obnoxious status effects in the game, but it's not insurmountable.

2. This isn't consistent; if your shirt's on fire and somebody drops a match on your trousers, it's not as if the match will sit there patiently while your shirt finishes burning. This is only really a problem with Shock, because its very nature means you can't turtle up and wait for it wear off.

ok

Alright, i'm but this is stupid. Why do people insist on defending a mechanic that is flat out broken???????

"Shock is not insurmountable."

This is both correct and wrong. Sometimes shock is not insurmountable. Sometimes there is 100% NOTHING you can do to prevent be shocklocked to death. Not a thing in the world. Not a single skill, talent, etc that the player can do. Not a single thing. Nothing. Nothing you can do to prevent is shy of not going into the strata.

That is BROKEN. Face it. Don't defend it. Yes there are times you can get shocked and shake it off. There are also times where 1 quicksilver can shock itself and kill you and you can do nothing but stand there doing shock, damage, shock, damage, shock damage. Stating otherwise you are just lying to yourself.

Two things

Two things that are bad right now, as far as battle mechanics:

The monsters doing piercing damage, particularly wolvers, need their damage scaled back. Illogically, players wearing gear with piecing defense are still getting hit harder than prepatch, because generally piercing defense on armor is a bit lower than normal defense. Thus, when damage is split 50/50 between piercing or pure piercing, players are taking more damage than prepatch even if they wear armor with piecing defense.

Jelly cube spike attacks are too difficult to predict. Players are used to watching enemies for attack cues, not the ground beneath them. This is exacerbated by jelly cubes being symmetrical; it is difficult to tell which way they are facing, and hence, which jelly cube is doing the attacking. And when a bomber is present, you can forget about trying to see where the spikes are coming up.

Or, you know, it's possible I don't see it as as big a problem as you because I'm careful. There is something you can do shy of not going into the strata - you can avoid getting hit, or, more realistically and sensibly, make sure you've got some Shock resist in your equipment loadout. If you're having particular trouble with a particular status effect, plan for it. Get something in the Magic Cloak/Hood line, or an Owlite-derivative shield, . Meanwhile, if you know you're going to be encountering a lot of Shock enemies - which, of course, a quick check of the strata before a delve will tell you - be sure to prioritise Remedies over other items and make sure you stay on your toes.

It's an obnoxious status effect, nobody's claiming otherwise, but if you're having particular trouble with it where others don't seem to be, well, take steps to remedy that! It's not broken, it's just hard; there is a difference. If you're on fire and you haven't got an Remedies, you can't do anything about that either; is fire broken? Or poison, or stun?

"Sometimes there is 100% NOTHING you can do to prevent be shocklocked to death."

Shock resist armor/shield, blocking shock ticks, not being shocked in the first place.

That said, shock does need to be toned down. It should deal less damage, with fire status being the DoT you need to worry about and shock being a combination of stun and fire. Right now shock is like being both stunned AND on fire.
