Help with the jelly king.

I have made it to the royal jelly plenty times, yet I have beat him only once, because of him healing, and the 1 time I did beat him, 1 of the party members
had a vile striker. Should I go for 2 swords with a vile striker as my second? Right now my sword is silent nightblade. I don't really want to give that up, so 2 swords seem the better option. Perhaps a poison bomb or something like that? anyway, these are the things I currently use for a jelly run: 4* Silent nightblade, 2* Blast bomb, 3* solid cobalt helm, 3* dusker coat, and a 3* horned owlite shield.
Anyway, thanks to everybody who helps.

In all the jelly runs that I've done I found that this works the best:
Try to have these items: 3 fire vials, 3 poison vials, 3 curse vials, and 3 pills. In the case when one's missing shock will do for a replacement, and your last resort should be stun. Freeze and sleep are sorta useless.
Keeping the king under a status effect as much as possible is key. Poison prevents him from healing, fire helps with good dps, and curse makes him hurt himself (best).
Guns are absolutely useless in there because of all the jellies. Use swords. A faust for curse, a vile striker for poison, and a flame brandish for fire are good choices (although you should really pick 1 when you go to fight him).
When throwing vials don't stand too far away or you risk some of the little jellies getting in the way. Try to be as close to the king as possible with a clear line of fire when you throw a vial (especially a curse vial, you want all of those to hit the king).
Having a party member with a freezing vaproizer or blast bomb makes the crowd of jellies much more manageable.
Stay away from the king when he goes pink; he's immune to all attacks. Try to predict where he'll stop spinning (he tends to do about 6 spins or so before stopping) and go there to attack/status effect him again.
Don't worry about the little jellies too much focus fire on the king.
To solo him you need at least a set of 3* stuff. 2* won't cut it at that depth.
Try to remember to shield when the king does a normal spin attack, it'll help you survive longer.
Use pills when you're at half health or less. If you're really low on health and you have multiple pills just use 2 and get your HP back up to a high amount. You're likely to forget to use it later when you really need it in the heat of battle.
The king isn't too hard if you stay cool and don't panic. Having a low amount of lag would also be helpful :P.
Having a Vile Striker in the party makes the battle easier since it'll keep the JK poisoned. It isn't necessary though. If everyone saves up Poison Vials then throws them only when he isn't poisoned, and only one at a time, the vials should last the entire battle. That does require some coordination in the party. Really the key to winning the JK is to have a good party.
I'll usually bring an Acheron as long as someone else has a Vile Striker or Dread Venom Striker. If they don't then I'll bring a DVS myself to help ensure a win.
It is rather difficult to use a poison bomb in that battle, definitely possible just difficult. The poison doesn't seem to last as long or have as strong an affect as the poison from a Vile Striker.
