Pulsar guns and other questions/opinions

So, as the title suggest, I have some questions about equipment in general.
1) What's the deal with the hate on Pulsar guns? I have seen some negative comments on them and I don't get why. From time to time I decide to go do some arcade runs and sometimes there are players that get really mad at me for having my Wildfire equipped, even going that far as to ask me to avoid any type of confrontation because "it ruins their playstyle", completely ignoring my opinions on the matter and never answering why are they so upset.
Is there something I am missing on the matter?
2) What are the pros and cons to consider when crafting the Acheron over the Obsidian Edge and vice versa?. I have a level 10 Silent Nightblade and I'm not sure which one to get. I would like to see some of your opinions on it.
3) How much do single UV equipment usually tend to cost? A detailed answer is always well received.
4) Do you recommend me to craft Normal damage weapons? Or should I stay with special damage ones? Keep in mind that I'm playing with only 2 weapon slots, with no plans to get a 3rd one anytime soon.
5) Not so much on the equipment side but, is there a Hunter themed Slime lockbox? And if so, does it have a specific code or does it share a pool with other styles?
That's all I can think of right now, but I will update the post if I have other questions.

Picking out the ones I want to answer...
1) Pulsars
A spammed pulsar makes swordplay effectively impossible in most situations. The knockback kicks enemies out of melee range and the bright flashes of light blind them, making it easy to lose track of both your knight and your target. Sure you may be doing some effective crowd control, but it boils down to "why control when you can just kill." Any competent swordsman is going to out-dps a Pulsar and kill em if you merely let them swing. Even gunners who rely on precision alchemer shots or charge spamming Magnuses/Autoguns need enemy placement to say consistent.
2) Acheron vs Obsidian Edge
I just like the Acheron Katana over the Obsidian slab stab grabby tentacles. From a gameplay's perspective, the Acheron's damage will outdo almost any other weapon if given a level playing field, while the Obsidian Edge just has poison. The only time Poison will out-damage an Acheron is if you're in a party of 4, who are all attacking the poisoned target.
3) UV Value
Depends on the weapon and the rank. I'd say, general rule of thumb, a good medium UV will add about 100k ontop of the item's price. A good High UV will add between 250k and 500k+. A good Very High will add about 500k to 1mil+.
4) Normal Damage Weapons
The only one I recommend crafting with any sort of priority is the Iron Slug, and that's only after you have gun CTR boosting gear. *Maybe* a Volcanic Pepperbox, but I'd sooner recommend its specialized damaged brothers.

5.) Hunter lockboxes were one of the first released, and so are very rare now. I forget what code they come from, ask Fangel or Ninga-Maen.
2.) Obsidian edge is more significant because it does a bunch of damage AND poisons. Some day there may be a situation where this becomes very important, where healers respawn or cannot be defeated and would add DPS to poisoned enemies rather than heal them. Acheron is just stronger damage however.. making it better in the current meta. Ergo I would craft acheron first, and obsidian edge eventually.
4.) Normal damage is nice to have, but tends to have underwhelming options. I would go for iron slug, valiance and nitronome, but not much else.. Leviathan blade can also be useful if you're a bomber.
5) 40G. From those you can get a special lockbox which does have things in Hunter colors.
Some signs of tracking the numbers on the wiki: https://wiki.spiralknights.com/Golden_Slime_Casino#Calendar (Note: It is unknown which color comes from which box at #14.) But I think it will be better to ask as mentioned above.

Thank you for the replies guys.
1) I'll keep that in mind when doing some arcade runs in the future.
2) So Acheron first, got it. Also, is there a good weapon that you would recommend when dealing with Darkfang Menders?
3) Thanks for the info. I'm particularly interested to know more about Armor/Helmets high+ Status UVs.
4) Iron Slug was a Magnus variant, right? I'll give it a try, since I really liked to use the Pummel Gun back then.
5) So 40G, is it too late to get my hands on one or they still have a chance to appear in the casino?
Also, regarding equipment, I use to have two type of weapons at a time(like gun+sword, sword+bomb or bomb+gun...I think I have Wildfire+Winmillion right now, really fun sword), so that's where point 4 comes into play, as I would like to have a special damage weapon for dealing with the primary type of monsters and a normal damage one for the secondary types(as long as they are resistant to the special damage one and/or don't share a common weakness).

1. People hate Pulsars because they produce knockback that can disrupt teammates. A skilled and considerate player can use them very well, but most players are sloppy.
2. I have a detailed sword guide that answers such questions. See the section on shadow swords.
3. I have an unfinished guide to obtaining UVs by Punch. Basically, it gives you an idea of how much UVs cost, if you don't buy them. Maybe it helps.
4. Some normal damage weapons are important because of their play style (e.g. Nitronome). Some are important because they hit crowds of monsters for huge damage (e.g. Iron Slug). But as a general rule, non-normal weapons are generally preferred.
5. I don't know about this.
I'm particularly interested to know more about Armor/Helmets high+ Status UVs.
Yes, on armor you should be going for status UVs, not damage UVs. I have a detailed armor guide about that.
I would like to have a special damage weapon for dealing with the primary type of monsters and a normal damage one for the secondary types
This is a good plan. It's dealt with somewhat in my sword guide. Iron Slug is a great normal weapon, but mainly in its charge attacks. So you have to think about whether you want a sidearm for regular attacks or charge attacks. There's no right answer.
1. Interruption. Pulsars have huge knock back that are easily spam-able. Without acknowledging what other members are trying to do, pulsars could easily be annoying. Pulsar, with few hundreds damage, may push away the monster they tried to target with potential thousands damage (e.g. blitz or brandish charge). So, expected 2-3 sec battle duration prolongs into 10-20 sec. Another case, when other players walked away trying to avoid monster's attack, but pulsar push the monster right back in, failing the attempt. Pulsar is ok-ish (not op) weapon when used in a good control (example case like... keeping monsters stationed near against the wall), which most (newbie) players failed to do.
2.
Acheron: op damage upgrade (same as gran faust), no status effect, not rare.
Obsidian Edge: like other brandish damage, poison status effect, somewhat rare, annoying to make.
3. Depend on what people want. Me generalizing pleb with my market ignorance would say...
10k E for very high weapon/max armor UV that are common
double or triple that when the equipment is annoying to make or in really high demand (e.g. great for lockdown)
50k - 100k E for double/triple max uv?
5k E for high ctr/asi weapon UV normally obtainable equipment
1.5k E for med ctr/asi weapon UV
non-max armor uv is usually cheaper than weapon uv counterpart.
and... whatever price for a UV that most people don't care
4. Yes, eventually. Normal weapon are not no.1 priority. But there'll be time, you just want try something new. Some normal weapons are not that bad. (like iron slug)
5. can't really answer this. So far, I never see one.
