Winmillion any good?
I managed to buy the winmillion recipe from a terminal, and am currently on tier 2. Is it worth it to craft it, or would I be better off with another sword line, especially once I hit tier 3?
i think the winmillion is a very good allround weapon why because you get 3 swing plus an energy disk per swing, with the energy disks having range aswell it can help out in a tight situantion i.e: when u want to keep away from somone or when you are low on health.
it is a fairly easy weapon to make and can get you access to tier 3 levels.
downside to this weapon is that it is the last in its line and only a level 4(could have made to be a level 5 easily).
but this is early days for spiral knights and they could bring out a recipie/weapon exspantion for it(or not) at a later date.
as i said before it is a very good well rounded and versitile weapon which i think should be considerd. i know that there are better weapons about like the wild hunting blade/ dread venom striker as they are much faster and more powerful, but how often are you going to get those easily or on a tight buget and can compinsate for the really slow weapons like the kovard or the divine avenger
We'll get a 5* winmillion upgrade some day, and just imagine what it will do! ... I'm hoping for "fling two (or more) projectiles per swing" instead of just "fling different colored projectile and do more damage"... ...
Also be nice if they'd extend the range of the charge attack on the entire series, make it possible to hit anything that wasn't in the process of leaping towards you or while your back was to the wall. :I
I'm hoping that they not only include a 5* version, but multiple 5* versions of the Winmillion. Maybe the energy discs can be different types (shadow, elemental, piercing) or they can inflict different status effects (sleep and shock, perhaps?)
And here's to some 5* Troikas for that matter... then I can finally dust off my trusty Khorovod.
The problem with the Spur line is that its extra hits count as projectiles, provoking Wolvers to dodge and Mecha Knights to block. In Tier 3, Wolvers' auto-dodge is replaced by teleporting behind you, without interrupting any attack they were charging up. If you use a Winmillion, prepare to be completely frustrated by Wolvers, Gremlins, Mecha Knights and Devilites.
As stated by Gigafreak it'll frustrate the hell out of you, expect to make a second weapon specifically to handle dodging enemies, ESPECIALLY gremlins. You will ragequit on gremlin stages because of it. It's quite frustrating, and after using it to level 8 or so, I gave up on it. Way too painful trying to work around the faults. But the upside is the recipe sells really well.

like the others said, the winmillions charge attck is totally useless against wolvers, mecha knights, gremlins, and devilite. for them, i suggest that u just use the basic attack or get another sword like the troika line or the calibur line. they're pretty affective agianst them.

No offense, but I don't really like the spur line. I will just stick with my calibur line. It is pretty much useless against all those monsters that N3cR0m4nS1r and Patchumz already mentioned. I would go with the calibur line instead, like me, cuz the charge attack is really good, with a chance to hit up to three times. The Leviathan Blade, one of the 5 star weapons in the calibur line(the other one is Cold Iron Vanquisher) has a major knockback in the charge attack. Of course, I don't really know that yet. The other forums say that though. I only have the tempered calibur now. In other words, I recommend the calibur line. You don't have too, and I won't take any offense, but I think that it is a very good weapon. Your choice.
I recommend selling the winmillion once you get it, 10k can really help a tight budget, it helped me get my combuster which is something i believe you should consider, its a standard 3 hit sword, enemies wont dodge and the chance of fire with the charge attack can really help out on some levels.
You can't sell a crafted Winmillion, it would be bound upon crafting since its precursor must be leveled up.
If you've seen Winmillions for sale in the AH it was because they were crafted and not bound before the 5/17 patch. Or they dropped from a treasure box since items from boxes are not bound it seems.
Err actually, do you mean selling it to a vendor for 10k? It costs 4k CR + 400 CE just to craft it... that would be selling it at a loss. If they already made a Winmillion, then just hang onto it. Maybe it'll have a 5* version someday that fixes some of the 4*'s issues.
I'm still using the Arc Razor at the moment and am going to try out the Winmillion but it seems like once you reach Tier 3 you need a backup weapon because of those stupid flying discs. They should really change it so that the Winmillion is like the Arc Razor but its charge attack is instead 3 of those projectiles shooting outward. Then after that it needs to get an upgraded form. I love the Arc Razor, especially the way it propels you forward so I can't see myself just switching to the Striker or Calibur line but if the Winmillion is only going to get me killed in Tier 3 then I'll probably have to give it up or just live with being the party meat shield.
LOL @ the "tight budget" comment. First off getting the Winmillion costs more than 10k so your budget is only tight because you're dumb. Secondly you can make plenty of money by using the Winmillion in tier 2 on Jelly runs afterwhich, if you'd like, you can buy CE and continue the Jelly runs to make more profit. A full run costs 80 energy and nets you 6-8k crowns, which is higher than the price of 100CE not to mention, in the first 3 levels of the 2nd stratum you make about 4k of those crowns, for only 30 energy. Having the Winmillion for this only increases the amount of money you'll have since it'll be a much better option for fighting with.
The projectiles on striking are extremely nice on non-dodging enemies, but on dodging enemies you'll wanna kill kittens. The primary reason for a nice fast weapon like this is the fast mobs imo. If you got cash to spare, try it out, but I highly recommend NOT getting it, especially since there's no 5* version (yet?).
I really enjoy playing with the Winmillion, but unless you plan to craft multiple sword lines anyway, I wouldn't bother. It's not as good as some other 4* swords, and it doesn't have a 5* version.
