I could use some upgrades to my character, anyone got recommendations for Tier 3?
I've recently joined the game and I loved, so I bought the starter pack do give me a leg-up. VERY useful to have all that extra energy.
Now, I'm looking to upgrade my weapons, do you have any recommendations? Here is my current equipment:
Helmet = Fused Demo Helm (3*)
Armour = Fused Demo Suit (3*)
Shield = Defender (2*)
Sword = Calibur (2*)
Sword = Thwack Hammer (1*)
Bomb = Static Flash (1*)
Bomb = Fiery Vaporizer (2*)
While my armour is up to scratch, as you can see I badly need to upgrade my weaponry, I love the two bombs I got to inflict fire and shock damage, but the actual DPS is low, though that is why I keep a sword and construct killer weapons on hand.
So, anyone got any recommendations?
Ok, I've upgraded my items to the following:
Sword = Tempered Calibur (3*)
Bomb = Super Blast Bomb (3*)
Bomb = Fiery Vaporizer (3*)
Now lets see how they handle in tier 2 dungeons.
Those weapons look pretty good. You might want to think about changing from the Defender to the shield from Snarbolax Tokens. It has defenses against the same damage types, but also improves your damage with swords.
Hmm, do I have to defeat the Snarbolax for tokens towards that shield? I haven't gotten too far in the Tier 2 stages yet, I either get viciously assaulted en-masse or my partners leave.

Yeah, you do have to fight the Snarbolax for the tokens. But he's a tier 1 boss, not a tier 2 one.
TBH, there are rather easy ways to beat Snarby; for example, if you dodge his bites, stun him, maul him, and then dodge his bites again, you can pretty much chain him to death in 5 minutes max. Found it out with a partner, but it should hold up in solo too, seeing as he was busy running into the thorns. -.-

CrazyWelshy ~ we are almost running identical setups. I do have an Owlite shield and the Snarby Shield. Prefer the Snarby, for-what-it-is-worth, for 1T & 2T. When friends/guildies invite me into T3, I always go with the Elemental Defense of the Owlite shield. As for bombing, I love it. Would suggest looking at a Venom Bomb - IF you plan on doing Jelly King runs. Mine I think is at 2*, but worth it IMHO. I also back my Calibur up with the Cutter line venom sword for those runs too. I don't do the JK level much though. Just down to just before him and redo, lather-rinse-repeat.
Hope you have a blast with it = )
The Bane
PS - IGN: Baines should you want to tandem 1T or 2T
Hmm, I'll have to get the heat levels on my items up before I take on Snorby, finding it tough in the arenas.
Though me and my partners thank God that I've not just obtained a Toxic Vaporizer Mk II, stops those DAMNED Gremlins from healing those robots knights. Still, I best save up for an anti-shock shield ASAP since THAT is a pure anti-bomber element IMO. Stops the charge.
Now, to either find the recipe, or save up for the best 3* or maybe 4* shield... going to cost a fair bit. Best slam those dungeons.
As always, armour depends on your kind of play. The Demo line is pretty good, as long as you like to use bombs often on top of swordplay or gunning. If your main style of combat is swordplay however, roll with the Wolver line or the Gunslinger line for gunning.
The shield is not bad, but the Defender is only an okay shield. Don't get me wrong - it's superb against normal/pierce attacks and it's easy to obtain. But there are better choices of shields. Owlite is more for elemental damage protection, opposite to Defender which is good for pierce/normal. T1 and T2 floors will probably see more use for the Defender, but I assure you that T3 sees more use with the Owlite. I'd suggest planning smart with the shields.
For the swords, Thwack Hammer isn't really a weapon you'll stick by for the rest of the game from here on. Calibur is a good weapon though, probably the best universal-use sword of the game. It IS the default sword line, anyways. If you were more a swordplay person, I'd say going with the Brandish lines. But seeing you with the Demo armour line, I guess Calibur is a fine choice.
As for your bombs - those won't really last long either like the Thwack Hammer. Think about switching to bombs that you can upgrade to 5* - the usual lines would be the Haze bomb (good for inflicting mass-status effects) and the default Blast bomb (good for damage and knockback).
