Player housing-like Mission Lobbys

As the title says, I think a very very cool addition to the game, that could also generate income through decoration sales, and also give players more to spend energy on, is the addition of player housing-like mission lobbies. I understand this would be a giant task on the back end of the spectrum, but feel as though every player would love this addition.

Picture this:
You open Spiral Knights for a lovely day of grinding, hit the mission screen, open our sweet and not so loving home of FSC, and decide to que up for a public party. Your placed in a lobby with a player who has statues of themself, statues that could be earned through certain challenges(like hitless Vanaduke, hitless DFV, just to name a few) All the rare decorations that could be earned through events, and your sat there questioning what have you done with your Spiral Knights career? does your mission lobby look up to par Mr. nothing but a Moorcroft chair? I didn't think so!

While this doesn't seem like a dream situation, it would make u really impressed, and want to do the same thing one day. Everyone's "home" or mission lobby would be different and all have different vibes or things they like to showcase.

Again I understand this would be a great task in the backend of things. But I am curious to hear players perspectives on it and the devs thoughts!

forgot to add

Forgot to add that the ready room camera could be moved to view the players mission lobby instead so both the player and their "home" are in view!

Better than guild halls

I feel like the original attempt at this was to have guild halls be the stand-in for traditional player housing which kinda works but I don't think it scratches the same itch. I mean no one is really bound to a specific guild. Guilds die all the time and any remaining active people will inevitably leave and join whatever the current flavor of the month is. It sucks to invest furniture and stuff in a guild only for it to die out and all that to be for naught.

I doubt the implementation would have to differ that much from guild halls. I mean, we already have a whole furniture and placing system. Literally just letting people have their own personal house they can decorate with what was once reserved for guild halls would be cool. Other games are able to let player and guild housing coexist using the same decoration systems e.g: Final Fantasy 14. Personal player homes can even be just as big as their guild land plots. I would like to see something like this.

Definitely interesting.

Sounds like a cool idea for those who shy away from Guild halls, and it being another way to exploit the playerbase for $$$ should incentivize development priority. I know I'd like to touch up my ready room to my taste.

Yeah, this is cute.

While I have some technical concerns (load times during premission, how this alters Kozma and Basil's placement, and where a player can access another readyroom/home from haven immersively), there are a lot of things that have potential here that I quite like the sound of. Players who have a big thing for creating outfits can't wear all their fits at once - having mannequins in their "home" that can really show off their style would be a big draw for a lot of players. For people like me, who craft a lot of gear for having a wide array of builds, it'd also be nice to have a place to unload excess items in our arsenals so that navigating our loadouts and inventory is a little less of a hassle.

And a spot for all the poor battlesprites that have been unequipped and left in their keepers' inventories for the last ten years might be nice, too.

Me, personally? I'd love to install a duelling arena if I had an in-game home... Or a training dummy, to test my build's DPS with hard numbers. I can think of a LOT of players in my own friendgroup who'd enjoy that.

I have no idea

As long as is not forced, its ok, I really don't care about "player housing" because it sounds like very cheap marketing propaganda so I care about the game, since "I've invested in housing" or "I can also have a place to call mine", But if players want's it is ok, as long the development of the general game remains healthy and this is not obtrusive nor intrusive.
