Is anyone getting a little worried about the inflating energy prices?

I've already haggled prices that were 4.5k to 4.6k, but 5k? I'm broke...
Anyone else having trouble in this market? These prices reflect our economy right now...

The more you haggle the market, the higher the prices rise.

Oh jeebus, the CE complaint

Oh jeebus, the CE complaint threads are spreading to other forums now.

By the way, before the rush of Steam players, the Market was at 7,000 Crowns per 100 CE. And rising.

Get it while you can, before it gets back to that level.

Once people stop buying

Once people stop buying energy, it will go down again. the only reason it goes up is because it's a seller's market right now. once buyer's start saying "no" then it will balance out.

It is *impossible* to play the game without energy. You *can* play the game without crowns, and crowns come easily just by playing the game. There are only two real ways that players can say "no" to buying CE: quiting the game (bad for OOO, but it happened a lot before the steam players came), and using only Mist Energy (bad for OOO since they only make money off of CE).

Since free players *MUST* use CE to craft 3* and above equipment, it means that CE can go well above what players earn on even the best runs. Obviously, once the exchange rate goes that high, those free players must be playing on mostly ME.

Buy CE while it is cheap, you may never see it under 6k cr per 100CE again.

From what I hear, it was

From what I hear, it was above 6k before the game came to Steam, so appreciate it while it lasts. If you've thought about selling CE, hold off for a week or so to get the most out of it.

The problem is what is there

The problem is what is there to play for if you cant earn CE through playing? It becomes a smarter move to buy CE to spend on gear and then to stand in town and be in your good gear while never going into the clockworks, since the only thing that can result from going into the clockworks is a net loss. And if thats all the game becomes whats the point of playing?

Thats the basic rule of mmos, time spent = gain.

To fix this they just need to figure out a hard cap on CE price based on slightly less than you can earn on average while playing, then seed the market. This will have a side effect of raising the value of crowns in the mean time, since people buying CE at the hard cap price will be giving the crowns not to other players but to OOO, taking many more crowns out of the game, making buying CE to sell for crowns at 1 Cr under the seeded hard cap more attractive as well.
