yet another "help me decide on what gears to use" thread
we should really consider making an official rate my gear thread. XD
ok, that aside, so far I have a
fused demo suit with elemental high UV
fire vapo with medium CTR
ice vapo with medium CTR
levi with medium CTR
voltech alchemer with damage boost vs. constructs low.
I'm trying to decide what my loadout will be at five stars. I really want to get a fearless rigadoon with ASI very high, but that's more of a dream weapon than anything else. the fused demo suit is perfect for mad bomber, but I dont want to waste those vaporizers with medium CTR.
I still need a way of inflicting pierce and shadow for tier three, and I have no idea what I want to do about it. so far, my final character draft looks like:
Helmet: Volcanic Demo Helm
Armor: Mad Bomber Suit
shield: Grey Owlite / Dread Skelly / Royal Jelly
weap1: Nitronome / Dark Briar Barrage
weap2: Ashes of Agni / Shivermist Buster
again, my UV's on my vaporizers are wasted, and I still don't have a way of dealing shadow damage. advice?

I'm just wondering, you had no trouble getting so many decent UVs but have not spent any energy on more weapon slots?
well, its mostly just me being lucky. haze bombs are easy enough to make en masse. the suit and sword were pure luck.
I honestly don't consider the low vs. construct to be very good.

the only bomb that deals shadow damage is the graviton bomb/vortex but as Matuse said, it sucks at dealing damage but rocks at crowd control
so then, what would be a good alternative? just nitro jellies and such?
Is there any chance you'd be willing to use a Gun? It sounds like the Sentenza would work out pretty well for you, dealing both Shadow and Piercing damage. If you're only using Bombs than Graviton is the one to go with for Shadow damage. Apparently its supposed to make a pretty good combo with the Shivermist.
The Voltech is a better choice than the Sentenza for a gun here. If trying to attack jellies, the piercing penalty will heavily outweigh the shadow bonus. Gremlins are annoying little bastards to kill with the Sentenza since they hop all about, good for herding but difficult to kill.
With his setup, I'd recommend just freezing the gremlins in place then doing a Levi charge to knock them out. With the CTR you should be able to easily get in two Levi charges before the ice breaks. Alternatively, you can just blow them to bits with the Nitro or DBB. Both work well on Gremlins.
You don't NEED to cover all damage types... If you have two the other two damage types or a normal then you are all set. Maybe with the new Gremlin boss we'll get a shadow damage bomb, in the same way that Snarby gave us DBB, we'll see :)
I think we can pretty much count on the gremlin boss including a gun of some sort, since that's the only weapon type with no boss token availability.
Nick's post said that there will be goodies (plural) from the bark tokens, so who knows what else there will be.
The bomb UVs are not wasted. If (or rather when) you feel the need to swap out of the mad bomber suit because you are getting worked over by status effects, you won't lose any charge time benefits when you use those bombs.
The only bomb that does shadow damage is the graviton line, which has bad damage, since it is primarily considered a CC weapon. You do not need to inflict shadow damage.
