I need some sort of protection against shadow enemies but not sure on which line of helmet to get. I'll be mixing the helmet with the Skolver Coat most likely. I already have an Angelic Helm but should I drop this and get the Magic Hood and craft upwards to the Divine Veil? I'm in two minds. :/

Crown of the fallen is situational.
Not in the sense that you only use it vs certain things, but in the sense that you don't want to use it in a fiend stratum.

In that case, you'll want a different helmet. For example, I have a fallen and a valkyrie set. I'll use the fallen set pretty much all the time, and save the valkyrie stuff for fiend strata,

Divine Veil seems to be a good all-around choice though.

Ah right, didn't notice the damage penalty. Guess the Valkyrie will do as a back-up for fiend strata. Really need one for those. Thanks.

you'll be happy it's ONLY medium damage penalty vs. fiends when compared to the lack of normal defense on divine veil.

Yeap Betrael is totally right. I have Divine Mantle and Crown of the Fallen. I barely use my Divine Mantle because almost everything (or everything) deals normal damage, but I use Crown often because I barely come across fiend.
