Shadowtech or Sentenza?

I just recently made a Blizzbrand, and I love the sword. But I also carried around a Silver Six, since my previous sword was an Ascended Calibur the Elemental Damage helped when I needed it. But now that I switched to Blizzbrand, two weapons with Elemental Damage could be of better use. Why have two elemental weapons when I can have more variety? So, I decided to switch to a Shadow gun and can't decide whether or not I should go Shadowtech or Sentenza. Which is better in more situations?

Thanks in Advance.

A thing to remember: The

A thing to remember: The Shadowtech Alchemer line deals pure shadow damage, while the Sentenza line deals split damage between Shadow and Pierce

So, if you'd rather have pure shadow damage then go Shadowtech but for split damage if that's what you prefer, then Sentennza.

I don't know which ones better in a particular situation so, wait till someone answers that.
EDIT: There are actually a few situations I can think of in which one gun is better then the other.
Shadowtech is better for Jk runs because even though slimes are weak to shadow, there resistent to pierce so a Setenza against them is kind of contradictory.
However, for the beast family if you have a lot of trouble with them, Sentenza is good, especially since it fires bullets really fast, fast enough to hit a Wolver with them.

The downside of the antigua

The downside of the antigua line is the split damage.

Jellies - strong against pierce, weak to shadow
Fiends - strong to shadow, weak to pierce

Basically you'll never do more than blah damage. Doesn't really matter if you're gonna use the silver six or blackhawk, neither has any real advantage aside from what they share, higher clip size and range.

It depends on what you're

It depends on what you're using them for.

I like to use Antigua lines as more of an offensive weapon. A six shot clip before reload can hammer out some damage.
It's better to use 1v1 but it is pretty much useless on mobs
Shadow is more defensive. As it has a smaller clip size (reduced to 2 hits) it's better for mobs. Charge shot will break off and deal damage split to many enemies.

I use All Alchs as defensive weapons.
I use mainly Cyro and Storm drivers.
And my sword is a winmillion (my favorite sword) I'll use the alch to run around and shoot. Waiting for the freeze or shock, then I jump at the with a quick 2-piece from the winmillion. But thats just what I do.

Personally, I like alchs better than antigua lines. But the Sentanza is truely and awesome gun.

The upside of the Sentenza is the split damage

Shosuko has only listed the downsides. The gun is neutral to slimes and fiends, lower against undead and constructs, and high against gremlins and beasts. For the low and high values, its damage is not as extreme because of the split types. This means that while I wouldn't gun down a skeleton with it, I can certainly take down a turret when I have to.

I currently use a Glacius, Sentenza, and just added in a Dread Venom Striker to the lineup. I think that the Sentenza's large clip size, quick fire rate, and ability to keep moving while shooting (although you do pause if you fire a full 6 shots to reload) are a great complement to the Blizzbrand line. I use my Sentenza all the time to do damage as I'm closing or opening the gap on monsters. Start with a charge attack on Blizzbrand, fire off a few shots (less than 6 to avoid reloading) with the Sentenza as you back up, swap back to the Blizzbrand and charge attack or swipe a few times to finish them off. You can also keep your distance from Gremlins while maintaining pressure (their dodge is very predictable) and either do a fair amount of damage to Wolvers or just get them to pop in near you so that you can easily draw them away from the rest of the group.

All in all, I'm happy with the Sentenza.

Split damage isn't much of an upside

Monsters resist stronger than their weaknesses, meaning it is not a neutral when attacking jellies, you will be doing below average damage. Even on 1 vs 1 the alchemers can fire off 3-4 volleys in the time it takes to fire off 2 volleys of the antigua's 6 shot clip. Even without incorporating ricochet and status effects the alchemers will do more damage. The big bonus of having an Antigua is it's huge range, and going from Blackhawk to Sentenza it loses a lot of it's range.

The main bonus of a Sentenza is Gremlins and Wolvers which are the two things that resist elemental, but they tend to dodge enough that it lowers your DPS significantly. The Sentenza is a sweet gun, but it's just not useful enough to carry around.

Shadowtech. Antigua lines are

Shadowtech. Antigua lines are near useless. The only exception is the Argent Peacemaker, which is very useful in the Fire Storm Citadel. There is nothing the Setenza can do that the Alchemer line can do better; I press you to find a serious gunslinger that even carries an Antigua line weapon. They will almost always carry Alchemers for status and elemental and a Callahan for pierce.
