Which is generally better: Skelly Shield or Defender?

I have a Skelly Shield, but just got the recipe and made a Defender Shield because I thought it was better, but after looking at the stats it doesn't actually seem any different...
I'm really new and quite broke, so I don't want to equip this new Defender if I should actually sell it...
Quick! What do I do? :)

I would prefer a skelly
I would prefer a skelly shield. If an alpha wolver is attacking you, you should run off to the side and dodge instead of shield. For fiend levels, you pretty much have to shield sometimes, because their projectiles are so fast.
There both good for different situations, for instance: If your fighting a wolver and it is about to attack, wouldn't you rather have Defender to deal with the piercing damage it will do?
If your fighting a devilite and it is about to attack, wouldn't you rather have Skelly Shield to deal with the shadow damage it will do?
I'd say keep your Defender because, let's say your being attack by an Alpha wolver of any kind, it will almost always shatter your shield after the 3 combo attack and the Defender can help last through that, which I think the Skelly Shield can't.
Anyways, wait for a few more replies to this if you can, to get some more help.
