Status effects

What is the difference between weak, moderate, and strong versions of status effects? Simply the duration, or is the effect itself, like damage over time from fire, and the debuffs from poison stronger depending on it as well?

There was an old discussion on what means what:
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/6321

The thread doesn't come to any final conclusions on the matter. There were a few findings though that need more confirmation:

* Statuses are scaled by tier based on star rating. So it is possible that you could run into a 1* Minor that has more power than a 5* Strong in Tier 1... as crazy as that sounds. But the 1* item should drop off rapidly in Tier 2/3 while the 5* shoots up in damage.

* From the few numbers recorded, the difference between Minor and Strong is marginal.

* Vials don't fall under the Minor, Moderate, Strong categories; they seem to be instead be in between.

Lots more testing is needed to find out what exactly all these labels mean.

One other note is that a friend was leveling a Fireburst Brandish when we were doing a Snarby run. All their fire ticks matched Ash of Agni exactly... Fireburst has a "Moderate chance of causing Moderate Fire" whereas Ash has a "Good chance of causing Minor Fire". Not sure what to make of that.

Were the Ash of Agni's flames

Were the Ash of Agni's flames lasting as long as the Fireburst's flames? I think this is the difference.

At least from what I've experienced with freeze it seems the stronger the condition of freeze the longer you stay frozen but then again this is the only real effect from freeze so any increase in freeze's potency could really only come from a longer freeze time.

If this testing holds true then, a fang of vog and a combuster should do the same tick damage at any level since they're both 5 star "strong" fire starters."

Did anyone run this test?

It's looking like effect damage is a combination of star rating, appropriate level, and intensity rating on the item itself.

Well, except that (unless I'm mistaken) FoV works like Faust/GF where it inflicts fire on non-charge hits as well, while combuster only inflicts it on charge.

That shouldn't matter. Charge

That shouldn't matter. Charge attacks don't seem to affect condition damage.
