I think we need our own little place to go to to hang our arsenal and just hang out and do stuff after going to clockworks. Also I think a group of people should be able to split the cost and own one home. So you and a group of your buddies can have a place to hang out in and call your own together.

Just a thought though it is something i would really like to see in the game.

There are already guild halls, and those are empty husks of space. Until they flesh out Guild halls, I guarantee nothing like player homes will ever happen, and probably not even then.

Well....

I'm not actually in a Guild so I don't know about Guild halls. This Idea mostly came from me and my good friend who I play this game with thinking it would be cool to have a shared home that we could meet at and all. I find it cool in mmo's when you have a place to call your own. It makes it feel more real.

the houses would have to be

the houses would have to be rental because we didnt want to stay here, the plane crashed and we need the mats for the plane so yeah.

A little useless (makes me feel playing some kinda of social MMO), BUT new places in Haven are always welcome, and I can totally see myself trying to get the most useless things just to put them inside my little place (half on my time in Phantasy Star Universe is playing inside my house. The other half is trying to get more decorations lol).

why build houses on a planet you're trying to get away from as soon as possible?
not saying the concept is bad, it just dosn't fit too well with the storyline.

Well, most of the stories about a distant and "hard-to-get-out" place, the protagonists initially try to make the place more comfortable (since it's going to take a while before they can find a way to escape), but yeah you have a good point.

Tents! You ever been to an archaeological dig site? What you tend to get are either really nice tents, or prefab temporary buildings for super-extended digs; nothing as permanent as a house house, but definitely something that a person could reasonably live in for a decent stretch of time.

It's even the kind of thing that could conceivably be formed with parts of your Drop Pod; I think it'd be reasonable to assume that such devices could contain some prefab panelling, a miniaturised power source etc. to build some sort of sturdy temporary abode from whilst awaiting rescue.

Agreed, this is not the sort of thing that seems likely to be integrated until the Guild Halls have undergone some improvements, because the barrenness of those rooms renders them almost functionless, but, sensitively handled, it could be a really welcome addition to the game's atmosphere.

I Agree

I think that orangepike and effrul are totally right that's exactly what I was talking about just a little place to hang out temporarily. Like the tents at the top of the town hall or the pods at the rescue camp.

2) Let us just agree that houses will never come out before the Guild Halls, only after the Guild Halls have been fleshed out some more, ok?

Sorry my computer is a little spazzy I just think the house should just be like even a tent to use as a save point or to close the gave in haven because me being a logical person everything has to make sense as if it were real to me and right now they have no place to go so in my mind they just need "your own" tent or something to end and begin the game with.

As it stands, there'd be little to distinguish them from Guilds, but that's because Guilds are so utterly featureless at present; the way to prevent them from becoming ad-hoc Guilds would be to give the Guilds some purpose, which they're currently rather lacking. People have been clamouring for features like Guild chat, noticeboards, stuff like that - stuff that abodes wouldn't provide.

I see these things as Crown sinks and trophy cabinets, essentially; somewhere to display Achievements, something to spend money on customising with furniture items and so on. Totally unnecessary fluff, but atmospheric fluff. Physical homes for individual Knights could help flesh out the world a little by allowing for...not neighbourhoods as such, but something like. There are simply too many players to have the camp as a consistent location, but maybe instanced camps (like the multiple Haven instances) that are consistent for individual players. So the camp would always look the same, but you'd have a tent in, say, Camp 2 and someone who set up later would have one in Camp 13 &c.

This might well be untenable - I am not a Server-Side Practicalities guy - but I think it'd either have to be something like this or just have homes as entirely separate entities, the way Guild Halls are. And that would probably make them too similar to Guilds to bother with.
