I've recently experienced some horrible lag spikes today that I didnt get yesterday. So I ran some defrags through the spiral knights folder. Later I tried to launch Spiral knights but I get this message. IVe tried verifying the game cache and then I tried reinstalling Spiral Knights and I've pretty much tried everything I know. Can anybody help me?

I've tried my other steam games like Team Fortress 2 and it works.
SO im guessing this is a issue with my spiral knights folder.
Make a shortcut to javaw.exe in the java_vm folder, then change the properties on the shortcut to this.
Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\spiral knights\java_vm\bin\java.exe" -jar getdown-pro.jar .
Start in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\spiral knights"
I dont have a folder with the (x86) part so I took that out of both names .
Then i clicked the shortcut and it showed me a black window for 1 second and closed.

Ok folks, this is pretty much confirmed to be a Steam issue. The game is being treated like a pre-load, and ALL the files downloaded on a fresh install are encrypted. And even if you replace the files with working copies, Steam won't authorize it to launch.
I'm sending a support ticket to OOO on the matter, but if anyone wants to, you can send support tickets to Steam about the game being incorrectly marked as "unavailable".
For everyone that has working copies of the game DO NOT under any circumstances remove it from the Steam list. If you need to replace files, do a manual transfer from the web client files or from this post
We're looking into this issue folks. Sorry for the troubles running the game while we get it fixed.
I just got this error a while ago. Tried redownloading, reinstalling, everything. Even system restore. Dont know what's going on. Please fix it asap.

Same thing happened to me, as well. I was playing the game, yesterday morning. Then after I got disconnected (the game was very laggy for me), I decided to clear out a few files to possibly make the game run smoother.... So I looked through a bunch of programs, and cleared up a lot of space. Among some of that was Moonbase Alpha... a Steam game I didn't want to play anymore. I uninstalled it to free up room on my computer, since it took up a lot of space, and it just so happened that Steam decided to act wonky after I completely deleted Moonbase.
I THOUGHT it was cuz of something I did, so I spent much of my day uninstalling, and reinstalling stuff. Nope.... no luck. Even the client from this site isn't working for me. My Java is up to code, and everything, as well...

OK, so work is being done, but it's not done, yet. Still not working, so it'd just be best to give this another day's rest...

Still no word on what's going on.. I'm really getting discouraged here.

Same my mist is full and all I've gotten is a email from a GM that says some players would be able to connect but I still can't.
So some people are telling me (people with the same issue mind you) that they can start up and play just fine. What gives. ?
What did they do to make it fine?
Here's what I did. and it's Validating and updating for me right now..
While using steam, "delete local content" for SK.
Navigate to where ur steam folder is, on your pc (google it if anything, some peoples stuff is different.)
Delete the SK folder completely. (Just put it in the recycle bin or something. If you're unsure what to do, do what I did, copy that folder to a flash drive and leave it there or something.)
Redownload the game, see if you can at least start up. I'm having issues connecting and what not, but at least the game is still available to me..

I am able to start the game up, I see my knight, my mist, and CE, but I can't get into the towns or anything;
I get hung up on the "select character" screen, and it says "heading into town" but it just stays on the knight screen.

This has since been resolved fortunately.
If you're still getting the "unavailable" error when you launch Spiral Knights, then right click on the game in the Steam Library, and then choose to Delete Local Content.
Once that is done, find it in the Steam Store again and choose to Install Game, and it will work after that.
You don't need to do this if you aren't getting the "unavailable" error. This only affected those that happened to install Spiral Knights since Monday morning game time.

I fired up Console.app on the Mac and it gives me these errors after starting up the game and giving me the unavailable message:

Just to point out, its another round of the problem. The new trend is Macs and Asia, can anyone else confirm this?
