I am a pretty decent player (can solo most of T2 w/o revs on a good night), but I have just had my ### handed to me on a platter every time I have tried to solo T3 & every time it was thx to Rocket Puppies.

I know the obvious stuff like get shield/armor that is asbestos lined & hit them with elemental damage if possible. I have an Ash Tail Set & currently my only 4* shield is a Skelly (b/c devilites were my nemesis until I got them down). I have the recipes to bring my owlite shield up to 4* & and I plan to upgrade to a Vog Set as soon as I can afford it.

Looking for something in the way of skill tactics to deal with them in the mean time though.

Thanks

honestly...

Without vog/elemental, or your higher * owlite... It's going to be hard, no matter what. Especially without a DA to take them out within 2-3 combos or driver-level alchemer to try and take them from a distance. It might be better just to not go solo, and if you insist on that don't go into t3 yet. Don't get me wrong, I understand your position. I use vog (leveling up divine series for vana) and a sinister skelly shield. But the SSS isn't made for the type of **** rocket puppies throw at us

Other than that... when possible, sneak up on them, take them one at a time, and take them out as quickly as possible. Run up, combo, shield, repeat

Run around the edge when you

Run around the edge when you know they're about to spawn, then take them down one by one..if everything lined up perfectly you'll only trigger one at a time..if things get hairy though i really dont know any great strategy, i usually just run like a maniac and pray they take each other out (as the rockets can damage themselves and other gunpuppies). I haven't tried DA myself (using my blizzbrand..yet to make it a glacius) but i can't imagine it being better than a brandish cus of how unsafe it is

The others got the general

The others got the general idea, it's best to sneak up on them and attack them from behind one at a time, shielding their first missile, and after that they should be dead.

A few other tips however, if you have any freeze or shock vials/weapons then you should use those on turrets you aren't focusing on if they're attacking you so that their attacks might get delayed for a moment.

You can, however, dodge the rockets without shielding if there are few shooting at you. The key idea is to get as close to the rocket as possible while still dodging it, this way the rocket overshoots and has to take a second to swing around and come back. I've generally found you need to do this twice before the rocket will explode from running out a time. Though I've only ever been able to do this with a max of two rocket puppies firing at me. You could 'practice' on the rocket puppy in the top right in depth 25 of FSC if you'd like.

Yeah, my typical Arena tactic

Yeah, my typical Arena tactic to to always make may last kill of a wave while I am in one of the lower corners. Great for the puppy wave, but useful for visibility on all the waves. Problem is last time I was on one of the Clockwork Tunnels and a bloody Rocket Puppy popped up on me 2/3rds of the way up my screen & I was going up a narrow walkway with other junk engaging me (shields... dodges just to have the thing 180 back at me.. shields.. OH F### I'm on FIRE --> Fail).

If you just shoot the missiles down it would make them sooo much more manageable.

*Sigh... Maybe T3 solo will just have to wait for that Wise Owlite upgrade.

If only I had that Vog Set & Grey Owlite then I could make it to the terminal to pick up recipes for my Vog & Grey Owlite... oh wait F###...

(yeah, yeah I know AH... but I am cheap)

Thx

Try using a Polaris against

Try using a Polaris against it. On d26 vana going solo, 3 Polaris hits generally stuns the puppy and prevents it from shooting. The next 3 shots take it down. Works well against 1 t3 rocket puppy but probably not in an arena situation.

What Dark Rotual?

My FOV (No UVs) charge can rake it down in one hit.

you really need to learn to

you really need to learn to dodge, use the 'wasd' keys, without that skill you will not survive t3

One word mate, P-o-l-a-r-i-s

You want a tip? simple, grab a Polaris, after you see how fast it blows the puppies brains...[well maybe not brains, screws maybe?]... out, you wont leave home without one

On a more serious note, yes grab a polaris, stay in the corner, prefably bottom corner. you gotta see the monsters that spawn, then hide in the corner when puppies are about to spawn, gun them down one at a time. Do NOT argo the whole room or your team/you will be a pile of roasting corpses in a couple of secs

@Bigfootm You are a giant

@Bigfootm
You are a giant douche. Why the F### would you bring up the FoV in a post about struggling in T3? Please, take your FoV and shove it up your ### (you will probably see it better there anyway). Read the OP. I know better gear would solve the problem, that's not what I asked for & that is why this question is not in "The Arsenal".

On another note, if you do

On another note, if you do happen to aggro EVERY rocket puppy, the best idea is to revive, switch to the weapon that will deal the most dps to the puppies, and just go nuts on them. Block til your shield breaks and then get even more violent at that. This is your only hope when 8 rocket puppies want you dead.

Okay, so not The Arsenal.

Any attack that has a knockback effect will abort most enemies' attacks (there are exceptions, of course; some would require additional strikes before it), and it will always stop any turret's charging animation and thus its attack. That's why Polaris is so good at dispatching turrets; their bullets inherit knockback at mid-long range. Of course, any sword like Calibur would also suffice; every last hit of any sword also has knockback (just don't try it with your Flourish; it may work just like any other sword but the damage penalty is not worth it).

Dodging their rockets would rarely happen unless you have enough room to move around with as few rocket puppies alive/on aggro as possible. T3 rockets have a much higher acceleration than T2 rockets, but their steering is still equally bad. A way to dodge them is to create a distance from the rocket puppy(-ies) beforehand, and sidestep away when the rockets are halfway from reaching you. The momentum will throw them off and they usually won't make it back to you again before they explode prematurely.

My two cents.

Okay not the aresenal then

Hide in the corner, charge whatever non-piercing weapon you have and aim for the nearest one [prefably elemental] continue until either some puppies wake up, or until every puppy in the room has died, if they wake up, abandon individaul kiting unless its just 1 or two in which case you can try to guard with shield, go for sheer DPS with swords. and just kill everything

Please note that you have to hug the walls while getting close to puppies, or they will detect you, Dont get too close though, ever since the update puppies have a low radius behind them which they can sense knights

Run towards a rocket to dodge

Run towards a rocket to dodge it. (Do not run directly at it, but run in it's general direction while it's coming at you.) If the rocket is headed in your direction while you are running in its direction then you can run past it and it won't be able to turn in time. You need to be careful as it will circle around for another pass. Keep "dodging" it this way.

Avoid waking Rocket puppies up when they are in groups. Same thing goes if you are in a narrow space. In arenas, try to predict when the turret wave will arrive and move into a corner. Work on the turrets in the corner and slowly move around the edges.

If all else fails then you might have to go suicidal and try to take them out before they fire too many rockets. Hopefully it never comes to that.
