limited play time and weapon/trinket slot upgrades

I know people have mentioned changes to the way these two upgrades work before but I would just like to talk about my situation. First off, I love playing this game, I've supported with money and I've gotten other friends to play it. However, I prefer having 3 weapon slots as it gives me more utility and "wiggle room" when entering dungeons and fighting monsters. My problem is that I am in class 40 hours a week, and have an additional 1.5-3 hours of reading a night. This is not exaggerated. With my demanding schedule, I cannot play most weekdays, and am lucky if I can play more than one day out of the weekend.

With my demanding schedule, if I want to use a weapon slot upgrade, or a trinket slot upgrade, I pay the same amount for very little use due to real life, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who plays this game and has a similar demanding schedule. I do not know a perfect system to accommodate players like myself, but it'd be nice if they could find a way to adjust this system a bit.

I'd be willing to spend real life money to purchase an additional permanent weapon slot, or maybe they could find a way to track playtime and after so many days of inactivity if it would pause the upgrades used until I log in again then the countdown would begin again, and if I was inactive another few days it'd pause again, rinse repeat... (I wouldn't get a full 30 days out of it, but it may allow me get more than 4-8 sessions of play out of the 150/250 energy spent).

Anyway, I felt like bringing this up to see if maybe there was something in the works, but at least talk about my situation and see if OOO might consider an adjustment to the system.

Thanks!

then everyone buys permanent

then everyone buys permanent weapon slots ultimately causing sells in normal weapon slots to fall sharply

I think it would probably be better to have a 48-hour weapon/trinket upgrade for weekend warriors.

In another game of OOO's

In another game of OOO's (Puzzle Pirates), they have the concept of "login days" and many things expire in terms of login days rather than straight days. A login day is any day that you log in, no matter how much or how many times you log in. So, if you log in only on the weekends, a 30 login day item would last last around 3.5 months (2 out of 7 days), while someone who logs in almost every day would have it last about a month.

Another advantage to switching to login days is that people who have take a break from the game can come back easier. Right now, someone who normally uses 2 weapon slots and a trinket slot would like see those slots expire if they were gone for a few weeks. They would then be faced with spending 650CE just to try playing again, and if they take another break, most of that CE would be wasted.

Login expiration, yes please!

I'd be much more satisfied with a login days concept rather than real-time days. I always have two trinket slot and two weapon slot upgrades on me to make full use of my arsenal, and this comes up to 800 energy a month. So every 30 days, I spend 800 energy, equivalent of crafting a 5* item, just to use my hard-earned equipment. Not too long ago I took a break from Spiral Knights as I was getting busy with other things. I come back and find that my slot upgrades had run out in my absence, and I run over to Boost and spend another 800 energy on getting them back. This is going to become very annoying later on when I start working again, and a lot of my day schedule is turning upside-down, and I won't be able to make full use of my 30 days of slot upgrades.

Therefore, if they are tracked on logged in-time I'll feel much safer about using them because it wouldn't matter if I had to get off for a week or two to do something else, just to come back and spend another 800 energy all over again. Three Rings should look over this and least consider tweaking it that way for the less active players.

I like the sound of this

I like the sound of this login day system and this "weekend warrior" idea, it would work perfectly for my schedule. I guess I wasn't very clear on what I meant by purchasing a permanent weapon slot, I should have stated that I meant to be able to buy 1 additional weapon slot permanently and then you can still upgrade to the fourth one.

Anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one who would like a reevaluation of the current system. Thanks for listening to my concerns!

how about it tracks the

how about it tracks the amount of time spent in the CLOCKWORKS but nerf the duration a bit so if you just login to sell stuff or craft an item and not actually play, it wont waste your days.

no wait

let me improve it little more, the slots work for a set amount of elevators you go down, like 100 or 200 floors.

Your compensation is that if

Your compensation is that if you don't play very much, you have lots of spare mist energy.
