OMG, Windows Shortcuts on Mac?

Okay. This will be brief.

I've been playing this game for a few months assuming you could never use any shortcuts. None of them worked.
I can't copy. I can't cut. I can't paste. The chat is almost completely worthless.

I just found out that Macs can apparently copy and paste if you use windows shortcuts?

How lazy is that?

So is there any way to paste

So is there any way to paste text if you are on a mac in spiral knights? I can use my paste shortcut fine anywhere else (like here) but not in game.
Edit: Never mind you have to use control+V instead of command+V
