After all, each refined metal is 54 weapons by itself, which is A LOT.

The items u get are not from hard work at all my friend. Items drop at a rate based on time in game. You won't get any more weapons than I do if you stay in game jus as long as I do.
They drop with a time frame between each and a cap on amount per week.

They go for three keys each, and since keys are 2.3 refined, that adds up to 7 refined. I never understood that, since they cost the same in the Mann Co. Store as two keys.
