New Class: The Sentinel

The Sentinel item would be a token (such as a book, or a skull, or a magical orb) that has only one stat: +mana. This stat would tell you how much mana is given to the sentinel class. For PVP, I would suggest 10 mana total. In the following lines I will describe how I would make the Sentinel Class work.

The Sentinel class would have a mana bar at the top of the screen, where the guardian shield hp bar is currently, that would passively recharge over time at a rate of 0.25 blips per second.

On activation, The Sentinel passively heals all party members in an area around himself for 1 heart blip per second, draining 1 mana per second. If the activation key is held for a total of five seconds, all remaining mana is drained, healing party members for an amount equal to the amount of mana drained.

This would effectively implement a healer class into the game for PVP and for PVE (if my class suggestion for PVE is considered)

The stat does not necessarily need to be called "mana", i just used that term because it worked for my purposes.

For implementing the lockdown classes for PVE, the items that replace your shields in PVP could be implemented into the game as actual items, with 1-star to 5-star versions.

That being said, I would love to see these classes implemented into the game simply because it would make guild PVE runs even more exciting and team-based. you would have tank, healer, and dps.

um?

Don't defenders already have healing abilities? Scratch that, hey do, I tried them. Defend and heal is what Defenders can do, so I become one and pair up with a teamate so he attacks in my stead while I keep him covered and recovered

XD

Tiennen, using those classes

Tiennen, using those classes in PvE would make it extremely easy, that's all there is too say about it.

Nope

I can assure you it heals. Used it myself just this morning, and heals about half a pip per second. a full one if you're using one and in another defenders activated defence area :D

No doubt. You try it. Damage yourself then run in a corner and shield. It heals.

IMO: PvE lockdown isn't a bad

IMO: PvE lockdown isn't a bad idea. Hold the fort, for example, where you have to hold several key points against waves of enemies, the key is defeating all enemies without losing all points, or survivor mode where you have to hold out for XX minutes without monsters wiping out your entire team, no respawns for members. Everyone wins or everyone loses.
The key difference from dungeons: you actually have an objective, something other than finding a lift to the next level and riding the elevator.

PvE lockdown isn't a terrible

PvE lockdown isn't a terrible idea in theory, but I have a feeling it'd rapidly become a gold farm for experienced players.

Implementing Lockdown classes into regular, dungeon-crawly PvE, though, is a disastrous notion. The Guardian class would be absurdly, game-breakingly useful in dungeons, allowing players to hang out between rooms and heal up, which is something Three Rings have specifically said they won't do (I dunno if they said why, but the fact that it'd significantly undercut EN use must be a factor). Meanwhile, Recon and Strikers would be totally screwed by not having shields - you cannot tell me that invisibility, or even a dash, is a viable substitute for a shield in, say, an Arena where a half-dozen Gun Puppies just spawned.

The current PvE "class" system - that is, crafting loadouts tailored to specific battlefield roles - ain't broke, and is in fact what the rest of the game's combat dynamics are built around. Lockdown's class system works because Lockdown is built around those classes. The two are better apart.

What about... dungeon-like

What about... dungeon-like lockdown-like PvE mode, with the only difference from usual dungeon is in having an objective, something other than reaching a lift/defeating a boss and reaching a lift?

....

if the class systems were put into into PvE then it would ruin the whole point of having sheilds, plus since the guardian heals teamates, and themselves it would be far too easy to do bosses such as vanaduke. Also OOO said they were never going to implement healing into PvE.
