Is Fang of Vog a terrible weapon to use? Would a divine avenger be better? or a Levi blade?

As Mohandar mentioned, FoV destroys JK.
FoV is also awesome for taking out Trojans. Takes 1-2 charge attacks, depending on the size of your party in FSC.
Also, I've found the FoV to be overkill for T2 arenas. With proper fire resistance, it only does about 4 pips of damage and there are plentiful hearts about in T2. It clears the room very fast.
Otherwise, it is a rather unwieldy weapon, so many weapons are better choices. It is three-swing but incredibly slow. (Max ASI can help alleviate this.) The nice thing though is that it can set fire to something on the first hit. So if I'm feeling like I'm in a pryo-mood then I'll just go around burning everything. Fun times.

If you're specifically looking for a sword that does split elemental dmg, both the DA and elemental brandishes are better choices for general use, but few things are as satisfying as being able to take out JK in less than a minute with the FoV.

I think it's pretty pathetic
I think it's pretty pathetic that the most difficult weapon in the game to obtain only shines on a single mid-tier boss fight. By the point that you've obtained this weapon, you've already killed JK hundreds of times.
There's really not much reason to pick a FoV over something like Divine Avenger or Glacius.

ive seen people devastate zombies in fsc depth 27 with it
limited weapon slots -> not worth it
i think its good that the weapon has a slower regular attack, because if everything gets killed too quick itd start getting boring

FoV just isn't worth the trouble. There are really only two legitimate reasons for getting it: Showing off your skill at Vanaduke, and selling it for piles of money. If you still have trouble against the Royal Jelly after you've killed Vanaduke that many times, then your problem isn't a lackluster sword (unless it's solo, but I can think of better solo swords than Fang of Vog). Spend those Almirian Seals on a Blackened Crest instead.
@Kittenbox: Ancient Plate Set is all right in Lockdown, but isn't outstanding elsewhere.

I love my fov, at vanaduke,
I love my fov, at vanaduke, jelly, and roarmulus, havent tried snarbolax but usually I'm the one hitting the bell so no time to charge. It is risky, and when you have low health because you played badly/lagged then you have an inferior sword because it is slower than others, it does force you to play defensively in that case though. The charge is beatiful though, when paired with other teammates and useful weapons its even better (ie. vortex)

The best single target damage
The best single target damage sword, and by holding this title itself makes it very very useful, well, at least in my opinion.
FoV has one place where ti really shines- Royal Jelly boss fight. This is because it is basically a Leviathan that swings slightly slower with a charge attack that can set everything (including you) on fire. For the RJ, this ability to inflict Strong fire is a large bonus. Everywhere else, you could just use a Divine Avenger, or one of the Brandish lines for better effect (the Brandish lines also have a very useful charge attack, particularly Gacius).
Besides, if you can obtain a FoV, you should know better. (it takes 10-14 Vanaduke kills minimum)
