Thank you very much OOO for letting us have avatars on our pages. Now I'm just suggesting that we be able to insert our own avatars like most other forums. There should be an option where we can upload our own avatar through our computers or the internet or something of the like. It'll let more forum users be unique!

You can't filter out images like you can words so that is the reason that i'm afraid we'll never get custom avatars.

Suggestion?
A Avatar Builder. Shows you all sets of armor and helmets and you make a character. OR just make and ability in which it matches your spiral knight look.

The option to use current avatar's look: Have the degree of zoom, and maybe screenshot his movement? Like In the SPORE creature creator, you can test it's abilities, maybe it could do a similar thing, then press a button to screenshot it as you desired picture? Maybe with a zoom feature, so either Fullbody, progressing to the head. (Don't want anyone going places they shouldn't be...:D)
Or the same thing with an Avatar create. That could work...
I think...My addition would be asking for a bit much...now that I've put it into detail.

I do agree that the little pictures can make it easier to keep track of a conversation, and that lack of custom avatars causes confusion.
Being able to click a button on the "Character" window to grab the image for use here would be pretty spiffy, but I'd prefer that the developers spend that coding effort on actual gameplay features, bugfixes & optimisation, UI fixes, etc. I am under the impression that Three Rings is a relatively small studio.
Uploadable avatars would be easier to implement, and we could get the same result by manually grabbing and cropping screenshots. The vast majority of message boards I've seen that feature custom avatars just have parameters clearly spelled out somewhere bloody obvious like the very upload screen, and mods punishing violations when they are found by simply revoking that privilege. It shouldn't be different than enforcing any other conduct rule. I do not know of any boards having a custom avatar feature removed due to abuse, though I guess there are probably some out there now that I think of it; there are some pretty yucky communities out there. If there really is some concern that this community should have such a problem then uploads could also be reviewed before they take effect and limited to, say, one a month and only after being a member for some minimum time, with violation punishable by forum ban so the workload doesn't get absurd.
