Could be a good idea to be able to debuff the enemy, and strike for more damage.
Could also be defence/ magic resist and the like.
debuff items
@Oakgear: Your maturity is fascinating
@Paweu: Poison is not debuff in this game, its simply locks heal for a bit.
Im talking breaking defenses and the like: Debuff.
Actually, Paweu is correct, Poison is a "debuff", but only for a couple things.
Not only does it prevent you from healing, it also lowers defense and attack power of the being that was poisoned.
I don't know about the magic resist debuff you are talking about, but something to alter resistances of the enemy could be interesting.
I sense the Recon ability concept in the form of a weapon some day.
Yeah. The poison is actually a debuff. It lowers the attack power and the defense of it.
Really now ?
Where does it say that, didnt see it on the wiki or in-game.
Well thats fantastic, im getting that one soon :)
The wiki says it right at the top, I guess you must have just glossed over it. And I quote:
"When a knight is poisoned, they cannot heal, either from hearts or capsules, and have reduced attack power."
"Monsters afflicted with poison will be unable to heal themselves or regenerate health. Gremlin Menders or Wings will slightly damage poisoned monsters instead of healing them. It will also weaken the monster's attack power and defense."
Poison really is quite handy in the right situations, especially when compounded with other status effects at the same time. It can make taking down enemies a lot easier... although I am still puzzled how constructs are able to be poisoned in the first place.
i believe you but i dont see it here, only "destroy crops" :P
Wow thats a great bomb, in bomber tutorial on the website, they said its not that great, and also didnt talk about debuffing.
But i disagree with them, its one of the better ones i think.
I was quoting from the Poison status page itself. Perhaps that is why you didn't see it. The Venom Veiler is arguably inferior to the "main" vaporizer series. That is because Ash of Agni causes constant damage (useful when surrounded by a giant mob), Shivermist Buster leaves them vulnerable to attack and freezes them in place, and Voltaic Tempest both does damage and can possibly interrupt their attacks. With Venom Veiler, you have to do most of the damage yourself by attacking, which even though the damage done to you is reduced, can still be quite painful. It is however, when working with a good team (and possibly when used in conjunction with the other mentioned bombs) very useful for taking the enemy down faster and can be a wonderful contribution to your team in Arenas and Danger Rooms. Just remember it only inflicts "Minor" poison, so you will have to constantly use it to keep them poisoned. Avoid the Stagger Storm though. Minor stun really isn't worth much because it only lasts for a couple seconds.
Thx for the information :)
I didnt read the poison page, didnt know it included something exclusive..
Venom veiler is great with team members indeed, although i've always used agni/shiver.
About Voltaic Tempest, whats the difference between that one and Electron Vortex ?
Both have shock but which one is more effective ?
Voltaic tempest works like the usual status bombs. Explodes with a small amount of damage, and spreads a large shock status cloud. The Electron Vortex works like the Graviton vortex: it draws in enemies within range, holds them in the center for a few seconds, then explodes dealing a small amount of damage with a large knockback.
The EV is generally for grouping enemies, to be used in combination with guns or swords for dps. The VT is used to reliably spread shock status over a wide area.
"With Venom Veiler, you have to do most of the damage yourself by attacking, which even though the damage done to you is reduced, can still be quite painful."
Actually, when you use it in a room with menders/silkwings they will kill the enemies for you as it reverses the effects of healing - instead of healing they will damage them. I cleared whole rooms with just Toxic Atomizer, its insane what the bomb does when there is healers around.
Exactly, its a pretty effective bomb :P
The bomb tutorial was pretty lame, bet they guy writing it didnt thoroughly think this one through..
Well, I was talking about in general if there is just a large numbers of enemies following you, but yeah you have a point, most large mobs have at least one or two healers in them. I don't actually use a Venom Veiler (although I do have a Toxic Vaporizer I found in a treasure box), so I was just guessing on the strategy. Thanks for the correction Paweu
The debuff you mention is already ingame - its called Venom Veiler.
