I started playing Spiral Knights via the website launcher. I started a thread on the forums to showcase my art. Then I linked to my Steam account a few weeks ago. After the forum update last week, my two accounts should have been considered one on the forums correct, since they are considered one when I am playing the game? When I use the "sign in with Steam" my account name is now "steam76561198047846396." But I can still sign in as my old SK account "jlewis413." When signing in as my old SK account, it says that my account has no knights on it, so i cannot use the Identity Knight feature. When i sign in with Steam account, my knights are all three there to use as my Identity. But then I cannot edit the thread I started with my SK account.
Problem: Spiral Knights launched from my Steam sees my Steam and my old SK accounts as one. Spiral Knights Forums sees my Steam and old SK accounts as two separate users.

All I want to do is use the Identity Knight feature and continue to edit and update my thread without having to start a new one.

Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, I also have this

Yes, I also have this problem.

I've not heard anything about any fixes, your original account looks like it might just be a "Legacy Name" account now.

Its because the method used

Its because the method used for account linking is just a data migration. The SK account created through the site produces several accounts used for the other parts of the site, and manages access through a Single Signon though the cookies. Since Steam creates the account, and hides the UN/PW there was no way to find the corresponding accounts on the rest of the system (assuming they were even created).

When you link accounts, all its really doing is migrating the Knight data over to the steam account, flags it as converted, and then becomes like a zombie account so you can still access the forums, wiki and support, but lacks any data for created Knights. When the forum was updated, it parses the account info for character data, but won't find any.... so that function simply won't work as intended.

With the Steam login function on the site, its a completely different username, and ergo, a different account.

.

A snipe told me that the legacy accounts will not be merged with your Steam account, or reactivated for posting or editing in any way.
At this point, it might be best for you to make a new thread with your active Steam-linked forum account.

You could also make a knight

You could also make a knight with your name (I advise you do it quick before someone identity thefts you).
