Personally I draw a little picture on a sticky note and then put it on my screen after I post and bask in the glory that is my forum avatar.

We need a larger catalog of forum avatars. I've already fallen into the habit of identifying some regulars based on picture, and got a few people confused a couple times.

Agreed.
One time, I thought Bigfootm was Dogrock. *Shudder*
Click on the "Forum Preferences" link next to the search bar.
Switch to the Edit tab, pick your picture and hit the save button at the bottom.
