Hah, wow. That first pic is kind of hilarious... but the second one is a bit messy.
What kind of graphics card are you using? I used to get a very similar problem to this on an older Radeon card a few years back in another game. Does this happen regularly or only in special circumstances?

If it was just a random one off, I wouldn't worry too much then. While crazy and disturbing it sounds like nothing is going to detonate on you.

Is this now happening every time you try to play Spiral Knights? I'm leaning towards this being your graphics card cranking out a major problem; however, I'd first attempt to re-instal the game and then move on to re-installing your graphics drivers. If neither option helps you may have to troubleshoot your graphics card for a hardware faliure.
