So, Ive beet vanaduke with my Guild a lot of times (31 tokens) and I still cant seem to handle it alright, I have two questions here About my Shield and My cap for FSC and Lord Vanaduke. Ill ask you to please specify your answer, also thanks for your attention :)
1) Divine Veil or Vog cub Cap?
2) Grey Owlite Shield or Crest of Almire?
3) Polaris or Agent Peacemaker? (Working on my 4th Weapon slot upgrade.)
1) Divine Veil has Medium Fiend Bonus and Shadow Defense, Vog Cap has Medium ASI and Normal Defense. Both have Fire defense. If you're going to be swinging a sword around more often than not, go with Vog.
2) Crest of Almire has the shadow defense, which is handy considering 90% of FSC's damage is shadow typed. Like Tennis said though, as you get better your shield will be mostly useful for shield bumping. Grey Owlite is very handy for the 2nd and 4th Vanaduke forms however (those fireballs can hurt if you're not prepared).
3) Polaris for crowd control, murdering zombies, and just general handiness. AP is useful against Vanaduke but limited in its efficacy against groups of mobs. It has the bonus of being able to shoot through the white enemy barriers though. Generally speaking, go with Polaris, as the AP's split-type makes it ineffective against 2/3 of enemies.
I am going to assume you only have trouble on Vanaduke and not the rest of FSC :
1) Vog Cub because there is normal defense on it. Vanaduke hits full normal
2) No major difference, Crest is better for the rest of FSC because of shadow defense
3) I don't have the AP so i couldn't try, but i think AP will do a little more DPS to Vanaduke. However, the shock from Polaris is supposed to help.
Same as Fradow, I will only answer in regards to the Vanaduke fight.
1. Vog Cub Cap, like Fradow said, Vana is all normal.
2. I would have to say Gray Owlite Shield here. It can tank a Vana mace. It will not break as easily on shadow fire either.
3. Easiest gun for Vana is the Argent Peacemaker. With its fast shooting and mobility, he is almost constantly taking damage while you are dodging. With a team using Shivermist Buster, I would use Blitz Needle since that has a HUGE burst of damage with the charge attack.
As for the mask phases, use Leviathan Blade or Dead Venom Striker for the poison.

for the helm go with vog cub........... for the gun go with polaris........... and for the shield go with Volcanic Plate Shield the only shield that can resist a full on blast with duke's mace and not break and get stunned and on fire.
Divine or Vog Cub ... if you use many swords - Vog.
Shield is Crest the best. Same as Owlite, but there is rarely no Ele dmg, just Shadow.
Polaris - AP sux.
1. They both are pretty equal, vog just edges out better by a bit
2. Have you considered volcanic plate shield? it's basically designed for FSC
3. depends on what you want to do since they are both useful
Personally own both, but only bring my AP to FSC because it can shoot through mist walls.
1) I don't about this one... I'd have to say Vog Cub because it has fire resistance?
2) Aha, I don't know about this one either. I would assume Crest of Almire is more useful because it has Shadow defense which is good for them Zombs. Once you get used to FSC though, I suggest using a Swiftstrike Buckler. It gives High ASI to swords and guns, which is AMAZING. And really releases the reckless beast inside of ya!
3) Hm.. I don't really know. You and your tough questions!
Why not just ditch the Polaris and AP altogether, and go with a Blitz Needle/Plague Needle? ;D
