Team PVP/PVM Objectives

This idea came to me when testing out the t3 Snarby yesterday. :3

I love Snarby, but what if you could fight alongside your own team's Snarby?
In Lockdown there are objectives, but what if your objective was to defeat the other team's Snarby?
So here's the suggestion:
- Add a new objective type in Lockdown.
- Have teams of (up to) 5 players per team, but no less than 3 (for balancing, but I'm sure you guys can figure this part out).
- Add two Snarby's, each with their own area (which they can't exit from; this way they don't roam throughout the map).
- One Snarby would be teamed with "Team 1" and one Snarby would be teamed with "Team 2".
- Snarby would be "allied" with the team that starts on the relevant side of the map. Thus, he wouldn't attack or be able to harm his "team".
- The objective would be to defeat the other team's Snarby. Teams could have a single player helping to defend Snarby whilst the others rush off to defeat the other team's Snarby. Or other strategies could come into play as you have the three different classes to play around with.
- There could be "rounds" where the first team to defeat the opponent's Snarby would win the first round, and so forth. Three rounds should be interesting enough.
- T1 Loadouts would have T1 Snarby, whilst T3 Loadouts would have T3 Snarby. (When released.)

This could also be done with Jelly King, though there really should only be one "King"... so you could do something where you have two "uncrowned" Kings vying for power and having the teams fight for them. (You'd have to collect pieces of Crown from around the map and deliver them to your team's Jelly King). The opposing team could steal the Jelly King's crown pieces if they are able to weaken him enough for him to drop the piece of crown.
(In this case, the Jelly Kings wouldn't be able to be defeated entirely, as they would turn pink and heal after dropping a piece of their crown.)
This would give players the opportunity to assist in protecting their Jelly King, but also give them an objective (grabbing all 3 or 5 pieces of the crown).

Again, you could do this for the Puppy Twins as well, since they are always "accidentally" killing each other in the actual game. They could have some twin troubles and in Lockdown be at odds. Same idea as Snarby, though you'd have to knock out the opponent's Puppy Twin (which would be in a designated area as well).

I wouldn't recommend this suggestion for Lord Vanaduke, but if a good idea comes up for Lord Vanaduke, that'd be cool.

Anyway, I would love to play these types of objectives in Lockdown (having their difficulty increased/decreased based on the same Loadout t1 and t3 settings as players are matched up). :3

Yes! ^_^

If you've checked out the testing feedback section, you can read all about it. =D
I enjoyed testing it out and thought it was crazy, but fun. Not something I could solo without the proper equipment (I was stubborn and wore my Jelly King outfit, lol - sucks against all the puppies I fought, and the shield broke way too many times).

But that's a different topic altogether. =]

Sounds a lot like Runescape's Soul Wars

http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Soul_wars#Objective

A basic rundown of Soul Wars:
Basically there are two teams, and each has its own NPC avatar (one of Creation, the other of Destruction). The arena consists of two 'rooms' containing the avatars on either side, and a large battlefield between them. The battlefield has three control points--one graveyard at either end, and an obelisk in the middle--and is full of neutrally-aligned monsters. The objective is to kill the opposing team's avatar the most times within a set time limit (20 mins). Each avatar is initially impervious to damage, and the enemy's avatar must be weakened by adding soul fragments collected from slain monsters to the obelisk; this can only be done if your team holds the obelisk's control point. The more souls your team adds to the obelisk, the weaker the opposing team's avatar becomes. When an avatar is killed, it respawns impervious to damage and must be weakened again. When killed players will spawn at the nearest graveyard held by their team; if they do not hold either of the graveyards, they will spawn with their avatar (furthest point from the obelisk).

Something like this could easily be replicated in Spiral Knights. Instead of an obelisk, there could be a bell in the middle of the battlefield; your team must add a certain amount of heat to the bell (heat gathered from killing beast-type enemies around the arena) and be in control of its CP to use it. Ringing the bell will make the enemies' Snarby temporarily vulnerable (ala the regular boss fight--in PvP the bell would have infinite range and would affect the enemy Snarby anywhere), but the effect wears off quickly and the bell must be re-heated. First team to kill the opposing Snarby wins. For the sake of balance, weapon bonuses and penalties against beasts can be made not to apply within the arena.

I support this concept for new PvP matches. Back when I played RS I would play a lot of Soul Wars (before the bot epidemic made it all but unplayable), and it was a blast.

RuneScape, eh?

I played it briefly, a long time ago.
What you're suggesting is also very close to what I mentioned, and sounds great. =D

These types of objectives add a bit more fun to the game; and aren't meant to take away from the regular areas of the game (in terms of rewards, heat, etc.).
