Halloween is coming soon and it'd be the best thing ever if we can possibly get the mood on SK
Moorcroft Manor and Haven will mostly be focused on this event.
Let's start with Haven

>HAVEN<
There is a special vendor with a special mask (possibly a skull painted on the wood mask)
He will be located in the arcade and be on the platform that's not in use to the right (maybe all holiday/event things will be here)
There will be dark colored heat at the ground around him (for a creepy stranger feeling)
He will have two snipes on his shoulders (these are the only exception)
One will be similar to an angle and the other more similar to a devil
He will be selling only one, ONE, lockbox to anyone who talks to him.
The price should be selected by OOO and you can pay that price
OR
You can pay even more crowns at a possible chance that the condition of the box he gives can be possibly better than what you would have gotten.

Thoughts on this one and this may be to generous, but it's just a thought.
Moorcroft Manor will be much better

>MOORCROFT MANOR<
Let's start with the bellboy skeleton and the desk kat
The skeleton likes the spirits arising on this wonderful night.
So he now has a little trivia about the undead and fiend families (The questions are up OOO to decide or someone can post them)
And you can't cheat on this by looking on the wiki because there will be a time limit
You can only try this once, but there is an exception
If you talk to the desk clerk he will be selling knight bundle

Description of item-
An assortment of flesh and bones.
The most expensive organs and muscles.
All contained in a convenient capsule for your purchase.

You can bribe the bellboy skeleton with this, but depending on the prize you get from finishing the trivia, the price of the brain bundle might be expensive (maybe even cost energy?)

This is one of three special things that happen here.
The conjuring kat is next (Finally some use for that pathetically crazy mewkat)

This time when you talk to the kat it will say this:
Mewkat: Wanna watch?
Knight: Umm sure...?

Now the the blue glowing star with the pile of dead skeletons in the middle is acting up
It sparks some dark heat, then it just explodes into a tower of dark heat skyrocketing into the upper level (but you can't see that high so it doesn't matter)
You must talk to the conjuring kat again because you know eventually it will reach haven and that would be to screwed up to imagine
It tells you it won't help for about 3 or 5 times and then finally gives in and tells you to go to the train that just somehow came out of no where while you were talking to the kat
Now you head over to the train station over at the left side of the manor
The whole party needs to come
Then the passenger cart closes and then it goes forward releasing dark heat
(Now you must begin to wonder what's with all the dark heat?)
The screen finishes loading and you come to a formation in the level
It appears to be a shape that looks like two cones (One of the tops are facing up and the other faces down, encase your wondering)
This isn't a smooth surface and theirs a path that looks like one on a mountain's side
You start on a platform that is floating by the top of this double sided cone mountain (The tops aren't short they are leveled a bit)
You must now start heading down the path and it will only be big enough for three knights at a time (but it won't matter cause you can pass through team members)
You keep heading down, but along the way you face a phantom
The path continues and it goes through the middle of the formation
The hollow middle will have four regenerating pads with white/blue glowing heat supernovas
You must now carry them down the path that comes out the other side of the hollow cave
You descend further, but then Grimalkins keep appearing at the area beside the path, but they do not bother you because you now hold the single white flame that surrounds you in the light that the candles in candlestick keep have
At the end of the path the source of the dark heat is shown and it's a black sun
If your smart you brought friends the dark sun can only be put out if you throw your white supernovas at it
The aura of the white flame will only last half of what time it takes to get back up the path to the cave
But if you brought friends you can have one person always keep their white heat so they can have the rest of the party follow them back inside the light
But if you didn't then you better run like hell and get back to the cave so the grems don't start getting closer to the path each time
And if you decided to wear plate armor... sucks to be you
So once the black sun has been fused with enough white supernovas it will begin to spin and it will start to become brighter with every second
Then it finally explodes
And the path all the way up to the train has NORMAL heat out every other spiral unit (OOO basic measures on spiral knights)
Don't be a TROLL and share the path of heat
And if your stuff is all level 10... sucks to be you
You must quickly begin to go back up the path because the light that filled the room destroyed all white supernovas and now begins to fade ever so quickly
When the daylight is over the formation the ground doesn't appear as rubble but instead grass, but when the darkness creeps back the rubble will come as well
When the light that surrounded the formation is gone the grems will follow you, but will stop once you reached the hollow cave
Now there are regen healers that replace the white novas encase you got damage from the grems

Now you have finally solved all this dark heat nonsense, but you idiots didn't think for a second what would happen to the train since it RAN on DARK HEAT
So now the strange merchant from haven appears on the platform at the top
Then the remaining dark heat that he had encases your entire party and now you get the heat you got from the formation
Once you load you are now in the center of the blue glowing star that the conjuring kat was next to
Now when you talk to the kat it says-

Mewkat: Wasn't that fun?
Knight: I hate you...
Mewkat: I thought that would finally kill you...
Knight: Go hug a Lichen Colony!

This is the second event free heat without spending energy
Now for the final event

The graveyard to the right needs a purpose
So on this day ghosts roam the area
There will be a gate thats open at the entrance and a party button inside
This will be a fun little interactive memory game that if you have friends with you need to play as a team
The first set of memory will begin

The mosters that appear on this game will appear as different colors
Tier2 Trojan = Purple ghost aura
Tier2 Dust Zombie = Brown ghost aura
Tier2 Slag Walker = Red ghost aura
Tier2 Frozen Shambler = White ghost aura
Tier2 Droul = Green ghost aura
Tier2 Frankenzom = Blue ghost aura

The first one will be easy
The party can't move and must watch which color of zombie skeleton it smashes
The ghosts will take on the general shape of the monsters
The trojan's ghost will first appear and slash the brown aura of the dust zombie
Then once the ghosts have played their part
A dust zombie comes out of the ground somewhere on the map
You must kill it simple right?
Actually yah it is
Kill the zombies in the order the trojan does
But it gets harder from there the zombies will always be randomized and with each one you complete a new zombie ghost will be used
And if you mess up then you don't have to do the same pattern you were trying, instead the zombies turn to dust and the trojan ghost will charge the whole area and you need to put up your shield or you get damaged
Then the trojan will do a different pattern with the same number of zombies that there you were on
This will be done five different times because it is extremely hard trying to kill a specific zombie in such a small room while the others are trying to maul at the same time
Once you have finished for the fifth time a ghost of Lord Vanaduke! will appear as a grey flaming ghost aura and slash the Tier2 ghost trojan
Once Lord Vanaduke has killed the traitorous trojan you now need to kill the one the appears after Lord Vanadukes' ghost disappears
Now you finished

None of these people were dead, instead you just saw the past of what happened here
Vanaduke sure leaves a mess thats why the coffin area seems so crumbled

Congrats you just read all of this or maybe you skimmed it...
You better have not
Just say what you thought was interesting or you hate but dont sound like an ass

I know OOO won't have time to do this, but maybe they can at least do the bellboy skeleton trivia game
But it would be cool to see this next year

>EDIT<
The vendor is no longer in the fountain area instead he will be inside the arcade
He's at the unused platform to the right

What about Costumes?

Just to add on to this idea about Halloween...

Can we have Jack-O-Lantern helmets? Even if they were "Bomb" Helms, it would be neat. =D
Perhaps a new type of Bomb that is a Pumpkin and you can ACTUALLY THROW IT at enemies (just like the Gremlin Bombers can throw bombs). ;)

Further into the holiday season, I think it would be great to have Snarby wear some sort of Santa Cap just for the fun of it. :3

why snarby?

I think vanaduke makes more sense and yah their should be a special costume and maybe you can get the set from the bellboy skeleton trivia

The costume-

helm:
It gives your characters head a ghost aura possibly purple or white (originally)
The special thing is it can change color when in different stratums
But only stratums that are doing status monsters
And the colors will be like what the zombie ghosts mentioned above will be
And I'm not sure but if someone only sees a costume or maybe the real thing and the costume at the same time
But if it's only costume then your spiral character should have a (painted skull on wood) mask also like the special stranger will have

body:
Your body is covered in oozing black heat heat
It has a dripping effect and is leaching all the way down to your hands
______________________________________________________________________
I also want to see only two weapons from this event

Sonic broom (Like a sonic boom)
A gun that looks like a technologically advanced broom
You hold the strings at the end and they clump together
It fires out the top of the broom dark heat (yes more dark heat)

This might be only a five star weapon so if it is it will cause curse and some shadow damage

Then there will be the grenade
Jack-o-Bomber (Doesn't get simpler than that)
This will be five star bomb

A small carved out pumpkin imbedded with technology it glows with dark heat (yes still about dark heat)
You don't throw this you just lay this down like normal
When it goes off black gas will come out and it will cause curse to any enemies or allies who walk in it (this might have really strong curse so to not OP allies will be affected)
Then the gas is ignited by a spark from the electronic pumpkin bomb and it explodes causing shadow damage, but allies won't be affected by the explosion just the gas

Why Snarby?

Because Snarby is awesome! :P
Of all the bosses, Snarby is my favourite (t3 or t1 version) and there's good reason. He's a wild boss, not a mindless one, but wild all the same. ;)
Imagine if he had randomly picked up a Santa Hat and worn it, it would be slightly chewed up, but he'd likely still want to wear it. :P
Although, Jelly King could easily decide that he wanted to wear a Santa Hat instead of a crown... XD

+1

A very good idea. Most games usually have some holiday themed event, and it would be nice to have a little something extra in spiral knights.

I'm not going to bother

I'm not going to bother giving character suggestions, since I believe OOO should conceptualize this start to finish. But the game could really benefit from holiday mascots and they're surrounding events.

Guidwars has great success with their holiday events with both the mini games, and quests involving some kind of mascot. The Mad King and his circle of death and prizes are always hit among the players. The yearly Wintersday battle between the forces of Grenth vs Dwayna over the fate of the presents for the children of Tyria. Roller Beetle races during the Chinese new year event. These are always huge fun to participate in, even without the prizes.... but prizes are still good. TF2 has the Horseless Headless Horseman, and WoW has all kinds of mini games (and the usual farming quests)... and that gets everyone in the game participating.
