I have some idea how things could go together, but rather than try to pitch a whole giant thing, I’d rather just talk about some of the elements I’ve thought up that could make it fun and see what people think about each element.

Gremlin/Jelly - the jellies being mostly sloom/sloombargo so no new assets have to be developed in that respect and yet it still feels new. The player base has yet to see any significant gremlin presence in boss strata content so that would also feel new.

Stealth-themed stages – players have to avoid various sensors otherwise alarms go off walking up slumbering gremlin rooms. This also has huge potential to create some awesome arena rooms – having to avoid a set of circling sensors while dealing with a pair of sloombargo could be an intense encounter, among other possibilities.

A spiritual successor to Spiral Court II arena – an encounter where you’re locked on a platform and have to defeat some enemies at range, with a twist being your platform has a few respawning enemies on it. I’m not fan of gun-only fights but if you add some minions you have to take out on your own platform and some fast enough respawning fire pots, it wouldn’t be limited to just a gun battle. This type of encounter could be fun while also being difficult, as projectile evasion is one of the more challenging elements of Spiral Knights.

Fighting the boss prior to the real boss battle – I felt like Ultimate Glooming Wildwoods was almost there and the encounter was very well done so I figure this is worth mentioning. I’d love to see the boss come out early on, fight the player for a little bit, then when he takes enough damage, he summons some minions and retreats further into his lair. Establishing the villain as a threat early on in the boss strata makes you know what you’re going up against later so it hypes the player up for the end battle.
