Lockdown is fun, that's agreeable. Annoying? It can be if you're stuck with teammates who love doing stupid things like walking into traps, leaving just as the game starts, being useless, dieing all the time, and the list goes on. Yes, guild lockdown is possible but it doesnt always happen. It's not easy to encourage guildies to play something not as rewarding as almost anything else they're doing.
So what I suggest is a guild centered pvp. I'm not sure about whether or not there should be a random teaming option but even if there is, it wont become more popular than the guild one because in the guild one, the leader/founder of the guild would be rewarded with guild funds. The leader could buy with the guild funds, furniture for the guild hall(from monster statues to mineral deposits to sofas to possibly anything that exists(and doesnt exist) in SK), guild hall areas(the entire guild hall thing), extra rooms(maybe?), elevators that can bring players to a dungeon type training hall it's free but it's only a small area where a single type of monster can respawn and doesnt give any rewards(just an idea), guild benefits(like maybe a little heat/crown/mineral boost when four guildmates go together in clockworks) or anything that OOO can think up of that's benefits the whole guild.
Other than guild funds I suggest the guild war should also give bigger rewards to all the participants. I know that would be bad for OOO as that would just make people do guild wars instead of clockworks and wont need to spend energy to make money so I think it would be fair for them to give a cheap energy cost to play it(like 2 energy small). So it would give a good profit, make a new energy sink for OOO, have the same rewards per energy the same as in clockworks(but i suggest the guild war should be as long as one dungeon run or the lockdown thing or longer so it wont be unnaturally better than in the clockworks) and give non-casual players something rewarding and fun to do when they are done with most of their mist. As you can see this idea would tighten guilds, add a whole layer to the game, make being in a guild be more than just having a second name and once again, give non-casual players something rewarding and fun to do when they are done with most of their mist. Yes, you might know about my energy thread and this is probably the most acceptable, cheapest fix for at least the problem with active players not having anything fun to do with their mist gone. It's like hitting 10 birds in one cup!
Also, I suggest that the ranking be fixed. Not just being dependent on how long you spent on it. It should deduct the guild's points when they lose and add when they win, to be fair, the points deducted or added depends on the ranking of the two guilds. That means if the ranking difference is big then if the lower ranking guild wins, they gain a big addition in their points and the higher ranking guild will lose alot of points, if the higher ranking guild wins then they will only gain a small increase in their points, if the difference is small then they will have a pretty similar gain/lose but still with respect to the rankings and if the points of both guilds are the same then both guilds will win or lose the same points. All the rankings will be shown and the rankings would also serve the purpose of giving rewards to those on the upper rankings. Like how the elo system for Urban Rivals works.
Here's a possible rough reward system for the guild wars
*[Items] 1 Super Rare Area/Elevator/Furniture/Room for 1 random guild in the top 5
*[Items] 1 Rare Elevator/Furniture/Room for 3 random guilds in the top 10
*[Items] 1 Uncommon Furniture for 5 random guilds in the top 15
*[Items] 1 Random Furniture for 10 random guilds in the top 25
*[Items] 1 Random Guild Benefit for 25 random guilds in the top 100
*[Guild Funds] The 1st guild wins X guild funds
*[Guild Funds] The 2nd guild wins Y guild funds
*[Guild Funds] The 3rd guild wins Z guild funds
*[Guild Funds] The 4th to the 10th guild wins A guild funds
*[Guild Funds] The 11th to the 25th guild wins B guild funds
*[Guild Funds] The 26th to the 50st guild wins C guild funds
*[Guild Funds] The 51st to the 150th guild wins D guild funds
Where X>Y>Z>A>B>C>D
Also, I suggest there should be an "open house" option for guilds that lets anyone enter their pretty guild halls at the cost of some guild funds. Non-guild members can enter the guild hall by an advertisement in the events section.
