ok, so im trying to get steam's spiral knights to run on this system i just revived from the grave by formatting the hardrive and installing ubuntu10.10 on it....everything works fine..ive updated everything included java etc, and when i try to run steam with wine it runes fine...then when i load spiral knights...it gets to the logging in screen with steam account then shuts off the program, steam will still be running but spiral knights will crash..any help or suggestions? also...is there a way i can play the game using my steam account(thats where all my save games are) with ubuntu properly, or w/o wine?

If you want to play without
If you want to play without steam then you need to create another account (a SK account, not Steam), log in with that one and then download the installer.

but i wanna keep my stuffs
but i wanna keep my stuffs from my steam account....i've gotten some pretty good gear and would hate to have to start a new account, i trully would. now dont get me wrong..the game wroks perfectly when i dont have a steam account logged into the main spiralknights site....but is possible i can play with my stuffs on this site?

Sadly no, there is no way to do it. You could unbind everything and transfer it via mail or something, but that would cost a lot. You have no option other than doing that or playing through wine.
also i tried to play directly from this site from the play now button..but when im logged into my steam account it ga
ve me a "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (steam) isn't associated with any program." error message...anyway i can fix this as a preferable method of playing(as it seems to not require wine =3)
