So I have some TF2 stuff that i don't really want anymore, (selling my Earbubds and some spare weapons). So I'm kinda wondering what the exchange is between the games.
I've seen that generally its 400 CE per refined metal. So should I base everything off that? Keys=800ish CE, Earbuds= 13,800 CE
on the other hand, keys are 2.50 and 750 CE is 2.50 (i think?)
in this case, keys=750 CE and earbuds=11,250 CE

can I get some help on this matter?

thanks xD

also here is my tf2 back pack if anyone wants to take a look :P

my conversion rate

you got it half right... I go by 750ce = $2.45 one key = $2.50, so one key is 2.33 refined... 2.33ref = 750ce. 750ce divided by 2.33= 322ce... so i just round up to make up for the $.05 difference to get 325ce per ref. I have bought about 7 ref, a bills, 2 buds at this price... no one felt like they were getting ripped, and most of the ppl are still on my friends list and still offer me ref at 325. The problems start arising when you get into what the person values there tf2 stuff at, number of keys/ref... that is all over the place unless they are seasoned traders.

Most of the time i buy and

Most of the time i buy and sell refined for 500-CE and keys for 1000-CE.

I was making a large purchase in Spiral Knights recently, so i let keys go for 950 CE when someone offered. Which i would almost never do and only did for a 24 hour period.

A few days after i made my purchase and stopped selling Keys/Ref, someone saw my old post and offered 1600 CE for 1key + 1 ref, so i sold a few more.

People do sell for 400-450, but i consider it much too low considering how hard it is to make a refined and how easy it is to make 100,000+ crowns in a week.

hard to make a ref, lmao

Maybe for F2P, but no free to play is buying buds or bills. I'm sorry but 400-500ce per ref is absurd... People are just trying to make a profit off of a less popular game. Show me anyone with a Buds or Bills that doesnt have at least 10 more ref just sitting in other hats and stuff, plus it is EASIER to make a ref profit on things in TF2 then making that kind of return from SK... you dont even need to play TF2 to get the drops.

We've run this topic to the

We've run this topic to the ground before. Anyone who has ever been a regular, frequent TF2 trader knows that it's a grind.

The number one difference being that in order two make a profit in TF2, you need to actively sit in a server and hustle. You need to look for deals, you need to find buyers, you need to swing and swing often to hit a home run.

In Spiral Knights, you can invest in something as simple as recipes, toss them in the AH overnight, go to sleep and wake up with a profit.

If TF2 had an auction house, it would be a completely different story. But it doesn't. To make a profit, you have to be active in trade servers and that can take hours upon hours. People in Spiral Knights don't cry out of frustration while trading. In TF2, it happens much too frequently, i've seen (heard) it happen on a number of occasions.

And in general, there's a limited subsection of TF2 players that are willing to sell refined for CE. The vast majority of the serious TF2 traders wouldn't even consider trading for CE unless they were quitting the game.

@Destroyrofworlds Stop trying

@Destroyrofworlds
Stop trying to scam people into selling stuff for much less than its worth.

I'll buy ANY amount of TF2 keys you have for 750 CE each. Because they go for 950+ each.
I'll buy ANY amount of TF2 refined for 330 ce each. Because they go for 400-450 each.

About "you do not need to play TF2 to get the drops": sure, as long as you're at some server, you get drops. But they're limited at 10 drops per week. Refined takes at least two weeks to obtain (refined = 3 reclaimed = 9 scrap = 18 items, 9 pairs of items used by same class), and only if you're lucky enough to find stuff for same class.
SK gives you free 100 mist every day which can be used to make money. 100k cr isn't as easy as people would love you to believe, though.

Do not make any trades till you figure out what the prices are. Use search for it.

"The vast majority of the serious TF2 traders wouldn't even consider trading for CE"
Because they, like, don't play TF2? Oh, wait, its a TF2 forum now?

How do you think ppl get the recipes

You make it seem like you need to put zero time into SK to make a profit.... no, that is only true in TF2. Where you get drops just for sitting in a server. It takes hours to get to the recipes you speak of in SK. In TF2 you can just let it literally sit there and you will make at least 5.5 scrap a week which comes out to 2.4 ref a month, for doing absolutly NOTHING.
Responding to Round here: The drops are around one every hour and the cap is 11 hours for drops, sometimes you get 10 sometimes 12... Just because 400-500ce is the accepted price does not make it right... I go by the in game stores prices, people accept that. Sorry you have been unlucky.

You CAN sell refined for

You CAN sell refined for 400-500 CE
you CAN sell keys for 1000-1100 CE
You CAN sell buds (nowadays) for 14k CE

The only way you would make an equal trade in value is when they sell the package deals like they did with the rose stuff. Other than that, sellers of CE will NOT get refined for 325 CE. Thats just BULL!

I don't care what store

I don't care what store prices are, I only look at what people are ready to give for what they want. If you want refined for 300 ce, you can keep wanting. I won't sell you mine :P

Fixed my refined calculations.

@Poetry
Most recipes are useless - hard to sell and make you no profit. Few good ones make you less profit than 1 arena level (if you don't use CE for revives).

It's clear that the TF2

It's clear that the TF2 traders are trying to control the way the market moves (we've been over this before at length), they stand to profit the most. They obviously buy metal low, sell it at a higher price, use the profit to rinse and repeat.

I have no doubt that people sell at 325 out of sheer ignorance. Naturally, someone ends up being the patsy in the cycle.

Hey guess what! I'm here

Hey guess what! I'm here now.

What can you do in SK that you can't do in TF2?
Well for a starters, you can keep getting loads of money, without expending energy by doing JK runs. (+6000crowns a run)

In TF2,
You can only get a maximum of 12 items a week (and even then it's amazingly rare to get those 12). People value weapons in SK as 20ce. That's only a maximum of 14400crowns clean profit in a week. Whereas you can easily get that in a day in SK by grinding the clockworks.

You must understand the availability of such things, both SK and TF2 before you can readily make assumptions about the price of items in TF2 with the currency of SK.

The market price is defined by what people are willing to sell their items at. We see refined going at ~450ce, and keys at ~1000ce. Those stupid people who say keys are worth 750ce because it costs $2.50 to get 750ce and $2.50 to get a key are WRONG. Because then why didn't they just go and buy the key from TF2 instead of buying CE from SK and then expecting to be able to trade that into a key?

The other problem is that with the more CE you purchase, the higher CE to dollar ratio you get. You get 20000ce with $49.95, making it clear that with $1 you get about 400ce, and thus with refined being valued at $1 each, you can easily say that a refined is 400ce.

Please think about both entire games before saying things like this.
