Lots of people use the heavy hatchet in T1 (myself included, I have medium ASI), or sometimes a thwack hammer. Having a pure normal defense item with stun ressistance would keep that item from being overused. That, and mining cap is the only item that looks like a mining cap, with the exeption of the groundbreaker helm. Helm only though, so it dosen't get stacked.
We also need some sort of peircing weapon in T1, becuase spiral scale mail (1* equivalent of cobalt) is underused. Though there are a couple people who use it anyway, some guy who's name started with K had the helm.
Also, don't just tell people to rely on UV's. I've got low stun ressist on both of my frost breaker peices.
We need a 1* mining cap for PVP, and mabey a peircing weapon.

Nah, then you would have to make armor for that. Plus, monster bonuses in pvp are a no-no. The whole point of T1 pvp is that it's simple. The only problem with that is that its simple becuase there's one more useful item.
I also want a new mining cap just for looks. Make it match force buckler, give it a yellow star where the light is on the 0* one.
Changing the beast basher and slime slasher to split piercing and shadow respectively might spice things up a little.
Maybe make the damage split 2/3 normal, 1/3 piercing on the beast basher, shadow on the slime slasher. Keep the damage mostly normal to be noob-friendly, but add enough of a split to make a noticeable difference. They could add some lore on the beast basher being exceptionally sharp, and the slime slasher having been used to unearth some evil that should have been left buried.
Then they could also have an excuse for adding a low tier shadow armour as well.
