Or call it "Core Cafe" or whatever, the name doesn't matter.

Basically it would be an instanced area a little bit like the ATH, but would generate a new instance when you enter rather than dumping you in with random people. If two or more people in the same guild or in each others friends list enter at roughly the same time, they'd automatically join the same instance.

The purpose would be to have a quiet area where you could chat with friends without being bothered by other conversations, beggars, or the ever-popular fire-pot trolls in the ATH.

Some possible amenities: A crafting machine, Boost, an AH interface.

Could make it so that certain amenities are only accessible to higher level knights; like Boost would be available to everyone, the crafting machine would be available to people with T2 clearance, and the AH interface would be available to people with T3.

I was JUST thinking about the exact idea for the east side (exept it was a garden).

But the amenities with teir clearance is not good.

perhaps there should be an area with a krogmo alchemiser and you can only enter it if you are cleared for tier 2 (or 3) pvp.

I remember in the closed Beta

I remember in the closed Beta the east side had a road block and it looked like as if they were going to put something there.

I think a cafe would be rather cute :)

This idea sounds like a

This idea sounds like a Guildhall for friends. But since Guildhalls are not very popular (at least that's what I've heard) I'm wondering if "Frienshalls" would be.

I don't understand why this

I don't understand why this can't rolled into the Guildhalls? Custom guildhalls with merchant services can be a moderately successful CE sink depending on how its priced.

@Starlinvf well, the friends

@Starlinvf well, the friends you might want to talk to might not be in your guild.

Plus I have a suspicion that OOO doesn't want to add anything too exclusive/interesting to guildhalls to avoid excluding those features from people who for one reason or another aren't members of any guild.

A simple solution to that

A simple solution to that would be guest invites. I take that feature for granted, so I overlooked it without thinking. -_-

@Nicoya-Kitty Not attacking,

@Nicoya-Kitty

Not attacking, just wondering what you think, If there is nothing (which at the moment, there really isn't) exclusive or good about being in a guild, then what the point of the guild. There are plenty of threads about updating the guildhall with TONS of support. This is definitely something that a lot of people want.

@Brazzyts well, right now

@Brazzyts well, right now there really isn't much of anything exclusive or good about being in a guild. I mean, it's a little easier to put together a non-pug group for running RJ or Vana if you happen to be in a large and active guild, and occasionally you can get in on a guild PVP game. Theoretically being in a guild would also help for getting together shadow runs if the shadow key system weren't so retardedly broken. Some guilds coordinate to try to influence gate construction, so there's at least that.

Guilds should offer benefits of organization to gameplay elements that benefit from organization. Adding a bunch of exclusive stuff to the guildhall that doesn't relate to that directly would just be pointlessly walling off those things from non-guild players. I could totally support adding an AH to the guild hall, for example, and even having it so you could put up guild-only listings on stuff that you want to sell only to guildmates. On the other hand adding exclusive upgrade vendors, as has occasionally been suggested, runs counter to that idea.

The gameplay in SK, as it stands, is really geared towards random groups though. It's not like WoW where you need to make sure you have your tank/healer/dps holy trinity in place or you're screwed. Granted there's situations where having a dedicated status bomber can go a long way, but that's really as far as it gets.

Gone bad implies that it made

Gone bad implies that it made sense to begin with. Hehehe, just teasing.
Not that I would really be against this, it's not really worth rooting for. I thought that the krogmo collesium would be there, with a waiting room and such, as opposed to making the collesium a menu with an ugly frog pimp on it. Now if that was implimented, it would prevent me from looking weird as I mysteriously vanish in mid-conversation to go kick butt.

Applicable Ideas

How about monsters that daily visit the cafe? Every day, a new monster arrives and the other one leaves, or even hordes? When they stop by to visit, they're not killable, but rather minding their own business or even minding YOUR business! Gremlins and Strangers run the cafe, and if you pay a random amount of CE you get a certain prize. Like, you have an extra 3 energy, and you just want to use it to end your day, and depending on who visits, you can get different items based on the visiting monsters? Example: Oooh! A Spookat! Talk to the cafe owner and pay... let's say... 800 CE for the fun of it! Oh? the cute Spookat says something! It hands you a: (Precious item! [Originally thinking Magikat Hat]) And so on! Oh. And if you pay crowns, you might recieve something from a Gremlin or Stranger, such as energy, materials, and Silver Keys (Must be a a good amount of crowns!) Or, if a RARE monster pops up -Let's see.... Love Puppy! You might get a special treat (MIGHT) like an accessory or usable item or even an item that's reserved for you in your next venture into the elevator, like a curse vial or even the monster itself, that would go away the next day! Going to the cafe means there would be up to five to ten random people OR all your friends if they appear there, so your friends could be friends with each other!
TIP JAR: Store some credit in there! Tell the Stranger if you want the tip jar swapped after a while, and you might recieve an equivalent of what you may get by paying directly to the cashier directly!
EMOTES: They change in the Cafe! When you sit, the Knight actually casually sits on a chair at a cafe table! You feel the urge to dance? You do a little show with a random dance! How about a high five? Type /five [other knight] ! Wanna gift someone in the cafe? Type /payfor [Knight's name] {optional: jar} Oh, and no yelling in the cafe!
CLOSED HOURS: From 10PM - 10 AM, the daily monster and the cashiers are gone, and you can't buy anything, but you can still tip. Wait! Look around! More snipes inhabit the cafe than anywhere else currently in Haven. Why? Who knows! ...and Bootshuze is oddly enough quiet in the middle of them all! The working Gremlins also wander the haven, but are also confused on why Bootshuze is still there, and why so many snipes are present... but not on Fridays! During Friday's "Closed Hours" a boss randomly appears, but to have some peace time, too!
Vanaduke: Sitting on a rather large table drinking molten lava. SPEAK: Quiet infidel, I'm reading my paper. Unless you want something... (Pay a very specific amount of Torchstone and he gives you a rare Grim Spark item, but if you don't pay him enough or too much, he keeps the money)
Jelly King: Just stands there, walking around slowly, with his Impostocube squire right next to him! Talk to the squire! SPEAK: His royal jelliness would rather not speak, unless you will to give an offering... (Pay a specific amount of Gel Drops to get something like Canaduke does, but gives Forge items)
Roarmulus Twins: Just one is on a large swivel mat, and a Gremlin Mender is next to it. SPEAK: Look what I got! It don't work though... now what do I need... (Pay specific amount of Scrap Metal, and he is so grateful you helped him fix the Twin he gives you something from Forge too!)
Snarbolax: Digs around in its shadowy figure very quickly! Talk to it to catch it! SPEAK: RRRROOOOAAAARRRRRR! Erf? Hrrmmm.... [Pants, toungue out] (One monster bone does the trick. It gives a random Primal Spark item!)
------------
So?

So your idea (heavy-duty), is

So your idea (heavy-duty), is that we basicaly make another "punch", however instead of giving you UV's, he gives you items, and he uses crowns, and will take anything from crowns to CE to mats. I'm not really a fan of a random input-output machine, though the premise of having a laxidasical conversation with lord vannaduke does seem entertaining...

Sorta

You basically have random in/output already in the game, and there are a few "employees" rather than just punch, and different employees take different types of income. There would probably be a point system also needed for converting crystal energy, mist energy, and materials into the crowns system just for the cafe, if it ran by what I put. It's the actual running cafe, OR just a fun place to hang out if it weren't to be a profit place with monsters to keep the spiral feel. yes, I would also like having a cup of hot lava with Vanaduke, too.
