I have never done this, but was always paranoid that I would do this one day.
My friend pressed "Join" instead of "invite" when trying to invite me to join him on clockworks, this was of course by accident. It's not difficult to do since the two options are right next to each other.
Please enable an optional warning when someone is in clockworks and joins someone.
one time me and my bro were doing an FSC run with another guy. well we all died on the final room so my bro tried to invite his freind, he pressed join. Were like oh crud so i try to invite him back and...well i accidentally pressed join...so we both wasted 10 mist and only got a small portion of tokens :(
