Been trying to get the game working on a friends computer... it was working a few weeks ago then a patch came out and its gone. Installed the latest Java and reinstalled it. Previously it went up to 99 percent and then hanged, and now it just does nothing. This is the web version (non-steam).
My friend uses windows 7-32 bit home edition. Might be an idea to try and replicate it if you have such an environment.
ok, thanks, will try doing that when i see her online... we couldnt find the installation directory at first so reinstalled it using the link found on the sticky.
For me i found the folder at C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow but she doesnt have a "locallow" folder. Maybe we were being silly, ill just wait till she comes online again i guess and look for her. Will post soon.
you'll also want to get your hands on the projectx.log file. The first 50% of a map load is pre-caching resources into memory, with the last half being server data to construct the environment. 99% is an odd spot to hang on, but logs should so show an error if its getting stuck.

Looks like the patch got messed up somehow.... Just delete the entire "spiral" folder and have it download again. If you look at the logs, theres a negative Frame index warning following a scene transition, and I keep seeing attachment errors just prior to moving maps.

"Found unknown Windows version: Windows 7".... if it really is just an environment issue then that is pretty annoying since that was suggested from the very beginning of this thread.
You can ignore that. The dev libraries used are built around Java5, so it doesn't recognize Win7 specifically. It doesn't affect the game in any way though.
New patch just came out last night. Open version.txt and put the following:
20111116121219
Then try launching it again. It should patch up the new files.
If your firend could post the launcher.log (found in the installation directory) it could prove very usefull.
