Hiya peeps!
This is Kentard here, a friendly travelling artist and fellow SK-er. ;)
Just a few casual ideas (and sketches) of mine for some pretty nifty weapons (at least, IMO).
Do comment on those you like, and if you don't like it, it's all good.
I might be posting regularly if there is good reception to this thread, so we'll see how it goes.
New Gun Idea: Juggernaut - **
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/850/gun001.jpg/
Speed: VERY SLOW, Range: LONG, Damage: HIGH, Damage Type: Shadow
Description: You know it's about time to start running when the other guy pulls out a gun with a radioactive symbol.
Basic Attack: A slow, 2-shot combo with a long pre-attack time. The shot is a powerful beam of dark energy that appears and moves instantly. The beam pierces through all targets, dealing less damage for each target further from the beam's origin. You cannot move while firing this gun.
Charge Attack: Fires a succession of beams (probably about 3 at 2*) at the target after a long buildup time. The beams have the same properties as the basic attack.
---
Essentially, the Juggernaut is a Shadow version of the Callahan, minus the knockback and with a piercing effect. The attacks deal slightly less damage than a Callahan upon first target contact to compensate for the beam's piercing ability. This makes it highly effective against Gremlins as dodging the beam is out of the question. The main drawback to this weapon lies in the very long buildup time before firing, longer than any known gun existing. This forces the gun's user to fall back, and like a sniper, pick out targets from a long range.
The Juggernaut is not recommended as a DPS weapon.
---
Possible Upgrade Lines:
Pure Shadow: The 'Little Boy' (Nukem line) boasts a slightly faster rate of fire than the Juggernaut, and a deadly charge attack with up to 6 beams.
Curse: While dealing up to 30% less damage than the Juggernaut, the 'Deadshot' (Reaper line) possesses a deadly charge attack that may curse the target.
New Gun Idea: Shardgun - **
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/708/gun002i.jpg/
Speed: SLOW, Range: SHORT, Damage: MED, Damage Type: Normal
Description: Complete with three barrels, scattering buckshots and a nice oak finish. Parental guidance is advised.
Basic Attack: A slow, 3-shot combo. Five separate bullets are scattered at random angles, each dealing low damage and knocking the enemy back. You cannot move or turn while firing.
Charge Attack: Fires three massive slug rounds, one from each barrel, at random angles. Each round has a chance to stun that decreases the further the round travels.
---
The Shardgun allows gun users to compensate for low DPS, however it forces them to engage targets at close range, much like the Autogun. The charge attack is particularly useful in slowing fast-moving melee enemies down with a stun that makes the gun's point blank attack even more lethal, but at long ranges the gun is even more useless than the Autogun as the shots are scattered randomly.
---
Possible Upgrade Lines:
Bullet Rain: The 'Bullet Rain' (Boomstick line) allows for the gun's individual bullets to split halfway through their trajectories, effectively negating the gun's disadvantage at long range. However, considerably less damage is dealt by the split bullets.
Freeze: The 'Blizzard' (Hailstorm line) deals Elemental damage, and instead of a stun, the gun's charge attack freezes targets. This of course, forces the user only to use normal attacks when cornered, lest get trapped by the charge attack.
New Sword Idea: Satellite - ***
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/832/sword001.jpg/
Speed: VERY SLOW, Range: MED-HIGH, Damage: MED, Damage Type: Normal
Description: The last time this sword was swung, seven knights, three gremlins, three wolvers and a snipe were injured.
Basic Attack: A slow, 2-hit combo at the speed of a Troika. Good knockback per hit.
Charge Attack: The individual blades detach from the sword, forming a deadly shield of blades around the user, knocking back and damaging nearby enemies. Immobile enemies are hit up to 7 times.
---
Defensive players will enjoy the destructive power a Satellite possesses. Capable of pushing back a variety of enemies with ease, or taking down Gun Puppies and Howlitzers with a lethal charge attack, Satellites are tactically valuable to those who often find themselves stuck in a corner.
However, it has neither the attack power of an upgraded Troika or a Calibur, and its charge attack animation is very long, leaving users vulnerable to enemy bullets.
---
Possible Upgrade Lines:
Pure Normal: The 'Meat Grinder' (Sawblade line) deals pure Normal damage, and with each successive upgrade, the charge attack radius widens, compensating for the long charge attack animation.
Fire: The 'Catherine Wheel' (Minefield line) splits the damage into Normal/Elemental, and allows the charge attack to set enemies aflame. At 5*, each charge attack hit produces an explosion which has a very small chance of setting adjacent enemies aflame as well, although no direct damage is dealt.
Projectile Freak: The 'Eviscerator' (Hydra line) deals pure Normal damage, and is almost identical to the Sawblade line of Satellites, however the charge attack launches each sawblade in a different direction. While this extends the effective range of the attack, each target can only be attacked a maximum of one time, as opposed to seven with the Sawblade line.
Satellite is rather interesting.... but how does one use it without cutting off their own limbs? (Sword-chucks, yo)
