Just as the title suggests, in any moment while playing Spiral Knights (mostly vital times) the playing screen turns blue and shortly after crashes. This happens to me almost daily 1-2 times per day. I really hate this because I usually do boss runs and not only do I have to restart the entire tier because of this error, I also waste precious CE during the run.

Am I the only one to experience this or is this game related?

I would appreciate a relevant answer. Have a good day.

One of the common reasons is probably due to lack of enough computer resources? Basically the game just uses up too much resources that it goes haywire?

Getting a BSoD while playing

Getting a BSoD while playing Spiral Knights means your computer has a Problem, with a capital P.

Generic steps to go through are to examnine the Sticky and completely re-install Java, video drivers and the game (in order). Make sure to fully remove existing installs first. If nothing from that list works please post your computer details, including Windows version.

Are you getting any messages on crash or when you reboot? Notably the BCCode or the first number string the blue screen gives you, theses actually tell you where to start looking first.

I didn't get a BSoD while

I didn't get a BSoD while in-game (thank god!). My title was more of an expression emphasizing that the playing screen of the game itself, and not my computer monitor, turns blue and I can't continue. The interface is still visible and functional but my character isn't responding to any of my commands. After a few minutes the game freezes and I have to force exit the game and relaunch it to be able to play it again normally.
This happens occasionally when I play the game. I was wondering if this is a problem from the game or my PC.

Here are my computer specs if it helps with anything:

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2800+
Speed: 2079 Mhz
Memory: 1023 Mb DDR1
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X1650 Series
Operating System: Windows XP SP3 32 bit
Java Version: 1.6.0_29

Cheers.

Sounds like your video card

Sounds like your video card is failing, reinstall video drivers for a start. your RAM is also extremely slow, and your CPU is quite old. If its in the budget i would be looking at a new PC. Also since your PC just barely meets the sys requirements, i would make sure nothing else is running while gaming, that includes any antivirus software, and web browsers.

Windows vs. Linux

I'm a Linux guy. On my notebook (Core2Duo 2.3GHz , 2GB RAM, Intel GM45 shared memory) it runs quite fine, when nothing else is running; otherwise it quits itself after a few minutes. On a comparable Dell machine with Windows it also produces a BSoD.

If you don't want to buy a new PC give Linux a try...
